Wondering if anyone knows what is available in the studios at SSR? I know it isn't a full kitchen, but specifically, I am wondering about a bottle opener/wine cork screw/and silverware/bowls/glasses/etc...any help would be so appreciated! Thanks :goodvibes

Paper towels, paper plates and plastic silverware. Coffee maker with coffee.

And a toaster and microwave oven. Plus undercounter refrigerator. And paper bowls. A few real coffee mugs and a few real glasses.

thanks! so, no corkscrew or bottle opener, I guess? thanks again! :goodvibes

We just got back from a studio at SSR and we had a handheld can opener also. However, there was a corkscrew in our friends studio a few doors down from us, so, I think sometimes people leave things for the convenience of the next guest.

We had a corkscrew in our studio at SSR last year so guess it is the luck of the draw. I think you can request one if there isn't one there when you check in. There was one in our 2BR at OKW in Sept. also. I have one that stays in the luggage just in case though.

We had one but if you don't, I'm pretty sure you can request one at no charge.

Excellent idea! and I have done just that!

also wondering--this is the first time we have stayed in the DVC (renting points from a friend) and wondering about the towel supply...I know that they will come on day 3 of our stay, but approx. how many towels/washcloths do they provide you with for those three days before they come? Thanks again! :goodvibes

You will have 4 of each bath, hand and face cloths when you check in. You can purchase extra sets of 4 each at $6 a set or use the free laundry facilites by the pool ( you will need to get some laundry soap or bring some from home if you want to do more than one load. There should be one pack of Tide in the room. I think it is a $1 a pack in the laundry rooms. The machines look like they take quarters but don't. You just have to push the lever in as if there were money in it. We usually stay in bigger units but have done the pool /laundry hours on several trips also. Usually we just hang the towels up after use and reuse them for several days. You do not need to use the room towels at the pool as there are towels there. I have started bringing a small pop up hamper with me that was actually shown as holding children's toys which keeps the dirty stuff together in the room and then is easy to carry to the pool and back if we are in a studio. I think I paid a couple of dollars for it and it takes up very little space in the luggage. We took a larger version in Sept and I kept it in the closet of the MB in our 2 BR and it worked great for keepng the laundry for 3 of us together. Don't know where the other 3 adults and 2 kids kept theirs.
Oh yes the galsses in the studio are heavyweight water or juice glasses. I have bought wine glasses as souvenirs and used them while there.
There is only coffee enough for one pot so if you plan on more bring basket type filters and extra coffee. Zip lock bags work well for this. Another setup will be left on T&T day. This is the same in all size units not just studios. We also bring sugar or pick up a packet here or there at restaurants if we run out. Hope you enjoy your trip

Thanks so much for all of this great information--exactly what I needed.

That is a perfect idea for the laundry--this Nov. is a trip without kids (!!) for DH and my anniversary, but we go every April with the DS's, 7 and 4, and the pop up laundry hamper will be a staple on those trips from now one!

Thansk again for your helpful advice! :goodvibes

No Tide in the studios. And, though the books say you get four hand towels, in reality, you usually only get two.

Towels are replaced and trash removed on Day 4, not Day 3, unless you specifically request Day 3. If you don't stay at least four or more nights, they won't replace anything in the room.

You can pick up some extra towels down by the pool as well. My kids are hard on towels, so I usually do this, then just drop them back in the pool towel return on our way out to the buses.

One other thing I realized about the studio is that they DON'T have a DVD player. Of course, I realized this AFTER I had made a special trip back to the store to check out some DVDs.

Don't be surprised if you get some negative feedback about using pool towels this way. There has been some intense debate about circumventing the fee for extra towels.
I don't think bringing a towel wrapped around a wet body back to the room is trying to cheat the system but going down to the pool and snagging towels so you don't have to wash or pay for extra towels is. Sometimes Mousekeeping will give you extra towels if you ask. Like many of Disney's policies they don't always follow through with the charge.
Have a great trip.
