We're thinking of going to the Friday night Kissimmee Rodeo this trip.

I'd be interested to hear the views of anyone who's been to see it.

I believe it starts at 8.00 pm. Does anyone know what time it finishes?

we went last october, and thought it was good ! yes it does start at 8pm and goes on until 10pm, which we thought dragged on too long. get the money off vouchers from the booklets that are everywhere.
we thought it would be mostly the locals there, but it was mainly the brits!
the show is good and we would say it is worth going to see.
hope this helps

Hi
I'm looking to go this summer as well.
if you have children or a DW that are soft with animals it may not go down to well.As we are well know as a nation of animal lovers.

Seeing year old calves pulled up short on a lassoo and being wrestled to the ground can upset some people.

yep tony
I agree with you about the calves, the kids in the show run up to the calf and tie them up. This is on for about 15minutes.

Thanks, I think we'll keep it in our schedule.

It will make a break from the theme parks anyway!

Don't get me wrong I would love to go anything country is right up my street.
But DW would be tutting at me all night :rolleyes1

I'm really confused now, first few posts made it sound great, my dad is cowboy crazy.. thinks he is one! I'm a lilly livered veggie and don't like the idea of it...might have to split up and do our own thing that night! :confused3

claire it is worth going to see. In part of the show they have some kids who run toward a calf each which is held by an adult and they have to tie it up,(just the back legs) this is for a few seconds. It is to see which kid does it the fastest. my dd 13 wasnt keen on it, she is very into animals, but she didnt object to the other bull riding. The show does go on for 2 hours with a commentator who is quite funny telling you all about the events and cracking a few jokes in between!
Go and see for yourself !! :flower:

Thanks Netty, that has put my mind at rest, will definately give it a go, my Dad would prefer us all to go to gether anyway.

I've never come across this one before - might be worth a visit on our next trip. Will add it to my planning pile...
