kissimmee or int. drive

which is best kissimmee or international drive. i've stayed on i.drive but did not visit kissimmee. so don't know wheather to try kissmmee next or stick to i.drive.

any suggestions. i'm looking for a budget motel if possible.

We stayed at the Magic Castle Inn and Suites on US 192 and loved it. The construction is done in that area and we found there to be very little traffic.

We rented a suite for $33 a night with a medium size fridge and microwave in our room and a FREE breakfast.

We drove up I-drive and didn't like it. I guess it would depend how close to WDW it would.

I can't really help with budget motels but IMHO I-Drive is far nicer than Kissimmee. We have stayed on I-Drive three times and last time we split it with Kissimmee. I really wish we hadn't. I much prefer I-Drive (Sea World end) and I just preferred the choice of restaurants and the fact that Sea World and US are both close by.

I-192 and I-Drive are touristy areas. I-Drive can become a parking lot during rush hour, though. Hotels are tend to be more expensive on I-Drive too. I-192 hotels are cheaper, but with construction, parts of the road become parking lots too. If you want to stay on I-Drive, try the area south of Sand Lake Road. On I-192, try to stay away from the area around the WDW entrance (a few miles west of I-4).

If you want to walk around the areas, I-Drive has sidewalks, while I-192 doesn't have too many.

I have stayed just about everywhere up there & I prefer Kissimmee. I-Drive is way too crowded & slow. All of the restaurants are too crazed during breakfast time & it is more expensive to stay out that way. Kissimmee also offers more varied choices of hotels.

I also recommend Magic Castle. I've stayed there quite a few times & I enjoy it. The price is great, service is wonderful & the room is a well-kept, standard hotel room.

Hi !! We stayed at the south end of International Drive, and it was quiet and really nice. If you don't have a car - Int'l Drive is a MUST!!

The western part of Kissimmee and southern part of I Drive are most convenient to Disney. Of the two, the southern part of I drive is prettier and seems a bit more upscale. The farther south on I drive you go the more spaced apart the businesses are so it is much nicer looking but not easy to walk other places to eat.

I liked staying in the I-92 area as it's close to everything!

LOL.... I noticed your "name" here on the DIS and all the more reason to stay at the Magic Castle as they have a huge breakfast available:toast,Krispy Kreme donuts,bagles,cereal,fresh fruit,milk,juices,coffee and tea just to name a few!

When you take into consideration of having to go out and pay for your family breakfast the price for the hotel alone can save lots when you have a few kids with you!

Keep in mind though (depending what time of year you go at) that the outdoor pool isn't heated. We were there in Nov/Dec 2000 and we were too busy with going to the parks each day to even thinking of swimming.
