Radisson Resort Celebration

Planning to go next september. Thanks

Tim

Hi Tim
Stayed at the Radisson Resort Celebration a few years ago, see my list below, it there somewhere. While we had no problems in recent years it has got a lot of bad reviews. There are 2 pools there a smaller one that was heated and the larger one with slide with no heat, it was very cold water but you did get used to it eventually.
We have looked at Ramada Maingate West a few years ago, DW actually rang them for some info but a better deal came up.
Is there a reason you want to stay in this area? we have stayed onsite, 192 East and West, Idrive North and south but our fave place of all is LBV. Courtyard by Marriott on Palm parkway is better than any of the hotels you have named and you can usually book it for between £25-£30/night. Lots of places near you can walk to for food and drink.
Edit- just looked Oct 2003, so 4 years ago

The majority of people who stay in Kissimmee rent a private villa because there are many nice one's in the area and the location is good for easy access to everything.
The only hotel we have ever stayed at around the 192 was the Ramada Westgate, at least 10 years ago.

To be honest as much as I like the location I haven't really seen any hotels in the area that look that inviting.

I've searched the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board and come up with the following.

Ramada Maingate West

Radisson Resort Celebration

This one's a bit trickier - it seems that folks get confused between this hotel and Radisson Celebration Parkway. However, this thread seems to cover the right one:

We stayed there in July, and was worried when seeing such harsh reviews of it - the reality however, was very different, and we loved it!! Not one single problem at all, leaving me to take all future reviews with a pinch of salt (although all recent TripAdvisor reviews of the Hyatt where we're staying next, have been excellent, so lets hope they weren't wrong too :goodvibes )

That is good to know.
The problem with reviews is everyone has different standards and expectations. Some people pay $29.99/night and expect 5 star quality.
I think also different rooms in a hotel or parts of a hotel can vary in quality, one of the worst places we have stayed was last Xmas Comfort Inn LBV, we had a roach in the room, it was filthy (you could write your name in the dust) and not vacuumed for days. Other people have no problem at all with the hotel.:confused3
Another point is many people only post when they have bad experiences. I have never posted on tripadvisor but if I did it would probably be to complain about a hotel not to praise it which is not fair but most of us complain about things in life easier than praising.

Exactly!!!

Last 2 hotels we've stayed in (Radisson in Florida and Melia Cayo Coco in Cuba) had mixed reviews, but we had zero problems with both of them!!

Every hotel will have it's share of guests who didn't enjoy it - and i mean EVERY hotel, even top of the range 5* deluxe properties around the world - and the people who didn't enjoy it will be far more likely to come and write about how they didn't enjoy it, rather than someone who did!!

Also, seems to me that maybe hotels such as this Radisson give out their "better" rooms to holiday companies such as Virgin, due to the amount of business that comes their way

Great price! Who do you book through?

Julie I see you are going in March, unfortunatly one of the most expensive months for hotels especially next year with Easter/spring breaks being so early.
In March I checked a few prices they ranged from £42/night Early March to £58/night Easters Sat for 2 weeks.
The price I quoted was based on Sept 08. We have paid £25/night for the past 2 Augusts (£625 for 25 nights at the C by M is great value)
Good site to check are
www.travelrepublic.co.uk
www.Alphahrooms.com (3.5% cashback)
www.hotelopia.co.uk (6% cashback)
The cashback in brackets are if you use rpoints cashback site, other sites like Quidco also give cashback on many hotel sites.

Hi,
I am new to this so you will have to forgive me if I get things wrong.
But I felt I should let you know that my family and myself stayed at the comfort suites maingate east in may of this year, and I would highly recommend this hotel. Its clean, close to disney, free breakfast and shuttles to ALL major parks and best of all, the beds and pillows are the most comfortable we have ever had.So much so that we have already booked to go back in Feb 2008.
P.S. If you do look at this hotel go direct to choicehotels.com and book from their website its the cheapest way.

:welcome: to the DIS, cumbrian grumpy. Thanks for your input and we look forward to you sharing more of your experiences, and helping you with your planning for 2008. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate East and would definitely go there again. :thumbsup2 My review is in one of the links Deb has posted. :)
