Kissimee/Orlando transportation question

Hi all. My family will be staying at Windsor Hills. Even though we are really 2 small families, we will have 1 minivan for all of us.

Here is my question-what transportation options are available to the parks from Windsor Hills Resort? I have no idea, but is there public transportation? Car service?

Is it cheaper to rent a car in the Kissimee/Orlando area instead of MCO?

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome!

I just returned from Windsor Hills. I did see a schedule for a shuttle but I didn't read it. (We had our own car so it didn't matter)

There is a Lynx bus stop on 192 but it's too far from Windsor Hills. You would have to walk from Old Lake Wilson to 192 to the end of 192. That is the Reedy Creek Stop (it is labeled). I think there was another one on 192 directly but I'm not sure- it could be on the other end of 192 pass Old Lake Wilson on the right hand side.

If you are two small families, couldn't you do 1 mini van? Our Expedition fits 8 or 9 but we usually only have 4 or 5 in it at one time.

If you rent another car you would have another $12 parking charge.

Thanks for replying, Cindy. While we definitely can all fit in the van, I wanted to know about other options in case we want to do different things.

So there is a shuttle? Do you know anything about it?

You could probably call the sales office at Windsor Hills and ask.

The shuttle service (Maingate Transportation 407-390-0000) is kind of pricey... $10 per person, so paying for parking at $12 is definately cheaper.

You need to call and make reservations (so they know to stop). Departures to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Wet n Wild and Orlando Premium Outlets. They also do taxi service.

Thanks for the shuttle info. I think I'll look into renting another vehicle.
