Kiss Goodight....

I have read about the MK Kiss Goodnight in various places, but what is it exactly? Everyone seems to rave about it, but that's about all I can figure out? How long after official park closing is it? Do they do it on the nights of the MVMCP also or just regular nights? Any other information/tips about it would be appreciated. Thanks!

From what I've read, it doesn't happen every night and it can happen anywhere from an hour after the park has closed or even later. It's a special announcement thanking you for sharing in the magic and the castle goes dark. I've seen it on video and it's very pretty.

I think it does that during the announcement part, then as it goes black, it starts at the top and goes all the way to the bottom with this sound effect like a wand, you know, the "tinkling" sound.

As far as when it is done, it is everynight, but it is at the final closing for the night. So if it is an evening EMH it is not done at regular park closing, it is done at EMH closing. I would plan for an hour after the park closes because they sometimes have it scheduled for 30 minutes, 1 hour and 1.5 hours after closing and other times it is 1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours after park closing, just depends on the day. Another little side note is that it is not widely known. So asking a CM can sometimes leave you with more questions that you started with. I admit that I worked at MK for 3 years before I ever heard about it, so... I believe that there is also a link in that thread that gives the times on a month to month basis so if you check back to it before you go, it should have it listed.

I hope you get to see it! We finally did our last trip. We grabbed a snack and waited near main street while everyone else hurried out of the park (to wait for monorails, busses, ferries, and trams!). Finally DBF thought it wasn't going to happen so we walked ever so slowly toward the front of the park....and magic! It did! It was so very neat! I hope you get to enjoy it and have a wonderful trip!
