Hi - We've done DAS in Disney World a few years back. A few questions for 2021:
Are the Guest Service Kiosks with the umbrellas gone from all the parks now?
If there is no line, can we use the normal Guest Services for a return time? The thought of walking in Epcot from France to the Land Pavillion for a return time in July heat does not sound all that thrilling.

Thanks

I am not sure, but we will be there later this month and can tell you then.

if all DAS would do this most likely there would be a line as you need 6 feet between parties. you would not be the only ones doing this. plus I would guess you will be waiting out side for a CM to open up for you. from what I have read the lines is why Kiosks are not being used

Honestly if they made it where it could be Kiosk, the attraction or through the app that you could request a return time it would eliminate the queues. The kiosks could handle odd situations that occur, the attractions could handle return times when the mobile app doesn't work and the mobile app could handle the bulk in an automated manner. All would require the appropriate amount of wait time, the app could even account for where you are in the park vs if you had gone to the attraction to get the return time to keep wait times as equal as possible.

And I mean this as a temporary measure during social distancing and all, but if it turned out to be fair and equitable could be kept longer term.

from what I have read I dont see this happening, I think it will stay going to attraction to get your return time as a regular guest has to walk and get in line. being able to book online gives you an advantage timewise by not having to walk across park

I had read on a previous thread that the Guest Experience kiosks at MK are no longer there, not sure about the other parks. When I first had my DAS set up at Guest Services a couple years ago I asked about getting a return time there and they very clearly told me that they were not supposed to give return times, but I've seen reports of people who have had them do it. So who knows. But the whole concept of the DAS is that you are equal to a regular guest, not be treated preferentially which is why you are supposed to go to the actual ride to get the return time, same as a person who is not using the DAS.

I do not know about the kiosk I hope they have them or will when I return

If all you do is just ask for a return time the answer will probably be no. If your doing something that take time they might do it for you I have had more say no when I asked for one. I have had a few offers me a return time

Your have to walk to the ride anyway why not just go to the ride ( guessing sorin ) and do living with the land and or grab a bite to eat

I was only told no once and that was only because their machine wasn't working.

The not walking to the attraction putting you at a time advantage makes no sense considering Disneyland uses kiosks. And as I said if that was an issue they could simply add whatever the average walking time would be to the wait time and explain that is what they are doing and that if you go to the attraction to get a return time they wouldn't do that there. Plenty of ways to make it work with the app, especially as a temporary measure to help social distancing, as I said not as a permanent option unless they find it actually is equitable.

But that is getting off topic, for the OP, it sounds like you might have to go to the attraction, but in your example, I would simply try to work things to minimize back and forth. On the case of the land, send one person in to get a return time then go over to the seas and explore.for.example

MK currently doesn't have any (the team roams throughout the park)

I just got back and the only parks that had them were HS and Epcot. But Epcot only had it in one location, by The Seas with Nemo and Friends. HS had a few scattered around.
