Anyone got any plus or negative points for either of these two ?
it seems the kings inn is the nearest walking distance?

I’ve stayed at the Kings Inn pre-pandemic. It was affordable and had an alright breakfast. Very small pool. We didn’t use it. We had a room at the back of the property so still a little bit of a walk when you reach the motel. The rooms were fine. They were clean and decently spacious and did the job. We didn’t spend much time in the room other than sleeping after long days. The night of arrival I had to drive to get food because there wasn’t much in walking distance. In the morning there is a lot of energy and the walk to the parks doesn’t feel so bad. At night after long days at the park for us that walk was brutal (I also had a 9 year old). Because of the walk I usually don’t stay farther than Harbor anymore.

We've stayed at the King's Inn twice, in Nov. 2019 and Nov. 2021. They no longer offer breakfast but do have in room coffee makers and refrigerators and have a microwave in the laundry room for use. The rooms were extremely clean, beds were reasonably comfortable. We had rooms at the back both times and it was very quiet. We cut through the Garden Walk twice to get some different scenery. I would pick it over Alamo just because there are so many restaurants and shops at the corner of Katella and Harbor if you want to grab food or need other supplies. There's not much retail around Alamo. The deal I made with my kids last time is that we would walk to the parks and take a ride share back. We do midday breaks, so that was two ride share rides a day but even with the extra $20 we came out significantly cheaper than the closer hotels. My ride share tip is to get picked up at Grand Californian if you can and don't deal with the craziness of the Harbor pick up/drop off lot.

The positives for Alamo would be that if you cut through the Grand Californian on the way out, I think it is a shorter walk than King's Inn (but you can't do that walking in) and you avoid some of the homeless people and hawkers that can congregate on Harbor.

I've stayed at both. When I stay at Alamo I cut thru DTD. I think it's an easier walk than Kings. Both hotels are fine.

thank you for all the comments
dont mind walking and can easily go to dennys on harbor en route to DL

We have always enjoyed King's Inn, have stayed there 3 times. Sounds like someone said they don't offer the quick breakfast anymore--even without that I think it's good value. If you're okay with walking 10 min or so, it's a very easy and safe walk. The rooms are very basic, nothing fancy, but it's Disney so chances are you won't spend much time there anyway. It's comfortable and clean which is all that matters. I do agree with the previous poster that if you get a room farther in the back, it's a bit of a walk at the end of a long day. If you are certain on your dates, they have a non-refundable rate which makes it a really good deal, I can't remember how much % off--maybe 25% or 30% discount?
