Hi,
Any of you folks who live in the Big City could you tell me the easiest route to go by Tube from Kings Cross to Waterloo with luggage. Least amount of changes and escalators would be good.

There are lots of ways but one I used recently is

Kings Cross - Oxford Circus (Victoria Line)
Oxford Circus - Waterloo (Bakerloo Line)

Not sure about escalators etc. but I try to avoid Jubilee line as it always seems a long walk at Waterloo.

I second the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus and change to Bakerloo line because you just walk across the passageway to change platforms - no stairs or anything. There is a lift at Kings Cross that gets you to the underground barrier level but you do have to take the escalator down. More escalators at Waterloo.

It is not possible to do it without changes.

Easiest way with luggage is to get a cab but that costs around £10, more if traffic is slow.

I think Dimplenose's route is the best. The only other realistic alternative is Picadilly line to Leicester Square then Northern line to Waterloo, but I think with luggage that would be a bit of a trek between platforms at Leicester Square.

You could also consider getting the victoria line to Vaxhaull and then a train back to Waterloo. This is probably the easiest route with luggage as there will be less people to try to maneuver around.

It will take about 5 mins longer than the tube.

There is also the option to get the Northern Line to London Bridge and get a train to Waterloo East which is 5 mins (via above ground tunnels). But the walk from the tubes to trains at London Bridge would a slight trek with luggage.

Lots of stairs at vauxhall. I've never found a lift there - if you know where one is can you post the location because that would be really useful to know!

erm... taxi ?? lol!!

Ive done that horrid changing lines with luggage before and now I just take a taxi... door to door :) Its not actually that far from KX to Waterloo... i suspect it wouldnt be more than about £7.00 but it depends on traffic etc.

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies, it's given me a few options to consider.
