Has anyone completed the quest and gotten their special prize at City hall? I made copies of the clues and will give them to all of the kids (7 boys) when we goto Magic Kingdom. I was just wondering if the prize was worth the scavenger hunt.

Kingdom Quest are the books that have middle school kids being the 'protectors' of the magic kingdom. In this year's Birnaum Guide, they have a set of clues that once solved will allow you to collect something special from City Hall.

okay, what do we have to do in order to participate in this? DD15 discovered the Kingdom Keepers books on our trip a few weeks ago, and has already read them all. she would LOVE this!

This sounds great! Are the Kingdom keeper books something you can buy at a book store? Are they only available at Disney World?

smithmom - You can get the Kingdom Keepers series at any bookstore and/or Amazon! My DS10 has read 4 of them so far and LOVES them! Enjoy!

DD10 ate up the first 3 books and has been bugging me for the next 4. And now it seems we will need the Birnbaum book and the app to go with the clues!

My granddaughter has read every book in the series,5, I believe and loves them. Now we need to check into this Quest more!

I've been wondering about this series and maybe someone here could help me. I am wondering about content. My dd 7 would have no problem reading the books, but she is emotionally immature for her age. I was wondering if these books would be appropriate for her? The reviews I've seen say they are for older kids around 10-14. I didn't know if that was because of the difficulty level or content.

I've read the first 3 books. The books are probably a little old for your DD if she is emotionally younger than 7. It does wander in to teen hormone territory (it's very subtle, but it is there), and some of the fight scenes are kind of intense.

That said, if you would let her read the last few Harry Potter books, I don't think that Kingdom Keepers is more mature than that.

Hope that helps.

You do have to buy the Burnaum book but you don't need the app. I solved all of the clues just from knowledge of MK. I am hoping that the hunt will provide my older boys some amusement. I used to do the hidden Mickey hunt but they are bored with that now. Good luck to all who try and I'll post the prize (if no one else does) after our two week trip in August!

Disneydork - anyone can buy the books. They are at your local bookstore.

Oh, so it's just a little quest you get from the Birnbaum's guide book? And after you complete it you get something, or is that just with the student program?

I have to check this out for our next trip.

DS12 hates to read I got the first book in the series from the library. He has read 4 chapters in two weeks, I read the whole book in 2 days. I have book 2 but have not started it yet. I thought it might be something he could get into since he loves Disney World. To the poster to asked if her 7 yr old could read it I agree that it is probably a little bit more for older kids.

Maybe start the 7 year old with the Peter and the starcatchers books first. The first book in the series is the largest. If she has trouble with it then you could help her on that one and then it branches off into two series-one with Peter and the Starcatchers and the Neverland series (Mermaids). All of the other books are shorter.

They are about Peter Pan.

Thank you. :goodvibes I only let her read the first two Harry Potter books so we will hold off on this series for now.

Thank you. I did show her these books a little while ago, but no interest right now. :rolleyes2 She will probably enjoy these in a year or two and I appreciate your suggestion. I am always trying to find reading to challenge her that is still age appropriate.
