Anyone see the King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum? How was it? Compared to the Eqyptian exhibit from spring 2005 is it much different? We are several hours away from Chicago but would make the trip if it was worthwhile. Thanks.
We saw it a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. We did the audio tour and I would recommend that if you go. I didn't see the Egyptian exhibit in '05 so I really can't comment on that.
Understand that these are not the items from the 1977 tour. These items are of a much more personally significant nature and were simply stunning. To think that items from so long ago are so incredibly pristine, it really was amazing. DD8 and DS6 loved it. The whole time, I had the feeling like I was somehow snooping on Tutankhamun seeing the items that were there. Worth the trip. Also, DS and DM did audio tour, narrated by Omar Sharrif, and both thoroughly enjoyed it.
I missed it by one day when I was in Chicago, but you can bet I'll be there when it comes to Philly. What a wonderful thing to see. Egypt is one of my dream trips. I was scheduled to go once and the egyptian leg of the trip was cancelled due to instability in the region.
