Hi!

We love the king size beds we have in the one bedroom villas at DVC. At home we just have a double. When we move house soon we will have room for a much bigger bed.

Am I right in thinking that the US King size bed is bigger than the English one? Would we need to buy an English Super King to match a US King? I think their Queen size is our king size, am I right? Or have I just confused everyone?

LOL, this one used to get me too; but I think you've got it absolutely right. The US King is about 6ft wide and their Queen 5ft wide. Our King is about 5ft wide (give or take the odd centimetre :teeth: ) so you would need a super King.

LOL I know what you mean - my DH and I love the King size beds so much we just had to go out and buy one. When I wake up each morning I could almost believe we are in a King size bed at OKW........ :cool1:

We have had a Super King size for a few years and we simply can't sleep in anything smaller anymore. Neither of us are that big but we love the room to stretch out.

Be aware though, that when you buy one, you will have to replace EVERY piece of bedding including the duvet and pillows. We thought buying the bed was expensive enough, until we had to buy all the bedding - a small fortune altogether!

I'm obviously not the only one to be so impressed with the WDW beds that something similar at home is a must-have!

I'm still trying to pursuade DH to change to a king-size, but he's digging in his heels (thinks the cash could be better spent on another trip to Florida, so I have to agree there's something in his logic ... ;) )

We are moving into a new house so are expecting to buy new bedding etc. I agree it will cost a fortune- but lots of fun!!!! Why do you need new pillows? At DVC they put 3 across the bed I think.

While we are talking of beds, anyone got one of those Tempur/ Tempura (whatever they are called) beds or pillows? A colleague of DH's keeps on about how amazing they are but they are very pricey. Any experiences?

This thread answers a question for me. When we went to Florida last year we bought some Potterybarn bedding but its miles to wide!! :rotfl2: I think i bought the Queens size but there is about 5 inches of spare fabric each side!! l keep meaning to alter it on my sewing machine but just never get round to it!

I don't like 3 pillows - I fall down inbetween them!

We have a Tempura Mattress Topper and it is FANTASTIC! I used to suffer with intermittent Sciatica but haven't had any since we bought the topper a couple of months ago. The first two nights were awful then as if by magic, it was amazing. Go for it.

We have had a Tempur mattress for years and adore it. We have also just moved house and now have a room big enough to take an OKW size bed so are splashing out on a new Tempur bed, complete with up and down mattress for reading or raising legs and a massage unit! Yes, they are expensive but they are very good and completely different from all the other companies selling memory foam mattresses (we tried a whole load at the ideal home show last month).
