I know that king rooms cannot be guaranteed at the All Stars but I was thinking about requesting one however I needed some more info before I decided to request one. Since it is just DH, DS and I, I thought that a king room would give us more room to put a crib in the room and make DH and I much more comfortable. When we stay at the moderates we pay to get that king bed but they don't offer that at the All Stars.

Are all king rooms handicapped accessible because we will need a tub for DS to take a bath in?

Are they all located on the 1st floor? I really want a 1st floor room so we are not lugging a stroller up and down stairs. The 1st floor is a more important request I think but if all kings are on the 1st floor then it woudn't matter.

Thanks!

Hi Becka, I havn't been to the All Star's yet, going in 10 days, Yea. but from what i've read the king rooms have a handicap accesable shower and are on the first floor. It probalbly would give you more room for a crib but a tub might be more important. I also requested a ground floor room because of strollers, but from what i read each building has an elevator. Hope this information is helpful and accurate, maybe someone who has been there can confirm. Have a great trip.

We have had a king only on the second floor , which doesn't mean they don't have them on the first..we always request one when it's just us and it's just turned out that way. One time it had a roll in shower, one time a tub. Both times they had sliding bathroom doors. The bathrooms are larger so that wheelchairs can fit in, so some of the room size is lost. I have read on these boards that you can't get a king room with more than two people..another poster wanted the bigger room for the same reason you wanted it...a crib, and was told no.

Some (if not all) of the kings have a fridge in the dresser..so free fridge, less clothes space.

There are elevators.

They do have some kings on the second floor as my wife and I stayed in one in June. It was handicapped accessible. Not sure if they all are. The shower was awkward as the water would go all over the bathroom floor. It is designed more like a locker room shower for the wheelchair accessability. After we would take a shower the floor would be soaked and if anyone had to go in there after that it was a slippery situation.

Our last 2 stays at All Stars, we requested and got king bed rooms. At the All Star Music we had a 1st floor with roll in shower. The 2nd time at All Star Movies, we also had 1st floor but there was a tub. I didn't notice any smaller of room, in fact it seems bigger to us since there is only one bed. We really enjoy the king rooms on our adult only trips.

p.s. neither time did we have a built in fridge in our room..

We have had a king bed on the third floor everytime we have had one at the A/S (maybe 10 times). We have ALWAYS had a frig in the room too. We will only take a king bed if there is a tub. There are elevators in the A/S so the stroller is not an issue. As always, you can request it, but it is not guaranteed. We have only been turned down once. We do find the king beds at the A/S not very comfortable and extremely low to the floor (for the reason it is intended).

I'm not sure how old your little guy is, but here is something that worked for me when my first dd was about 8 months. I t would prob work for any baby under 2 yrs.

We went on vacation and it was a big savings to have 1 bed and shower only, instead of 2 beds w/tub. I had one of those small blow up kiddie pools,( really small, from the dollar store) when it was blown up it was about 18inches across the center and about 4 or 5 inches deep. I ran the shower till it was the right temp for baby, stuck the pool on the bottom to catch the water, when it was filled I turned the shower off and gave her a bath. When I was done I dumped the water and turned the pool on its side to dry out.

If its too late in the seasonfor you get a pool I know I've seen baby bath tub things that blow up to fit in a regular tub.

I stayed at a king room at AS, the big bed and big bathroom made it feel like it wasn't so budget after all. We liked it very much.

Oh wow...I didn't know this! We have requested a king also....knowing we are not guarenteed, but I didn't realize it wasn't allowed :(

We do the "family bed" thing. No debate on that, please- it's what we do :) No way can the 4 of us fit in a double bed. If we can't have a king, can we push the two doubles together? Anyone tried that?

Laurie, worried a bit, but still waaaay happy doing the single digit dance!!! :)
