King beds at All-Star Music

I just booked my room at All-Star Music for our yearly Disney summer vacation. I discovered that there are king beds available, but are these only for guests with disabilities? If anyone knows if we can request king beds that would be great - we don't have children and so this would be really good!

One more thing, how far a walk would it be to the other All-Star resorts? I know that the properties are very large, but we have never stayed at any of these before and wanted to check them out.

Thanks, Tiger

We requested and got a king size room. It was fixed for disabled..the bathroom door slide into a wall pocket, instead of opening..but our shower was "normal" with a tub (some aren't). We got a bargain of a free little fridge built into the tv cabinet. We really liked the extra room.

All the Allstars are easily within walking distance...just a parking lot between each one.

Thanks for the info! I am not sure if I am comfortable with this, being that it might mean that I am taking up a room that has been configured for a person with a disability. I would hate for someone to call who might really need the services of the room, but they are turned away because we have requested that room. I will talk about it with my DH - thanks again!

We did this in '96. Our DD was 2. We were in the Calypso building closest to the Food Court and Pool. It worked out great. It gave us a little more room w'out the two beds, although we had a pak-n-play for DD(which she never used, she slept with us). The fridge is included with the room, so this was a nice perk. Our shower in the bathroom was flat with no step or divider (there was no tub). When you showered the floor area got damp all over. Not really a big deal. We were very happy with our experience. I wouldn't worry about using the room, I'm sure they wouldn't offer it unless they had plenty of availability. I think all King rooms are this way. Erin

My last 6 stays at ASMu I have asked for a King room. Got it 4 times and like you certainly would not want to take the room from someone who needs it. I like the roll in roll out bathroom after a really hot day I can just pull down the shower seat an relax for a few minutes. When you make your reservations have the CM note it as a Kingbed request. This way if I get it fine but if not thats OK too.

Hey, Tiger926, I used to feel the same way as you about being a little uncomfortable about using a disabled room. But then on 2 visits, I have been given disabled rooms, I think, because that's all they had at that time. Last time at ASMusic, they asked if I'd mind a king room (I was solo-more room to stretch). It had a pocket door, but a tub. At POR, I was given a disabled room, 2 double beds but shower w/o tub, when I asked to be moved from original room-told that's all they had left for me to move to.
