King bed with infant/todler ques.

Dh and I have a king bed and always get a king bed at Disney. We now have a ds who co-sleeps with us. We were wondering if we HAD to get crib in order to get a king bed b/c it will go unused? If so, how much are they? Can we bring our own portable one so we can say there's one in the room and not have to pay for one? Thank you!

You certainly don't have to get a crib; if you don't want one, just don't ask for one. As to the cost, I think even if you do get a crib, they are free.

I don't know how Disney does it, but in booking with other hotels, we had to have them not list our son (ie, 2 guests, not 3) because some booking systems wouldn't allow a king room if 3 people were listed, even if one was a baby. But you definitely don't have to get the crib.

We cosleep with DS & we get a king room at Disney. The first time the CRO CM couldn't figure out how to book the room. She kept saying with 3 people I needed 2 beds or a king and a crib. Cribs are free, and the are the pack and play things. But they take up a lot of room. I didn't really mind, but knew I did not need to have one.

So I just called back. Second CM booked the room without a problem.

Disney can't force you to use a crib or not cosleep.

Worst comes to worst say "ok" to the crib & then when you check in tell them you dont want it.

Kids under 3 dont count towards room total anyway so your room should be booked as 2 adults and 1 infant and shouldnt be a problem in booking that. Anytime we booked a room a crib was never forced on us, they just asked if we wanted it or not so if you say no that should be fine.

Technically I don't think you even have to tell the CM who is booking your reservation you have an infant. Children 2 and under don't need park tickets, resort ID, etc, so really I don't even think it matters. Depending on which resort you are staying at they will either have real cribs, pack n plays, or both. You are not required to use one, but if you would like one they are free. You can also get a highchair for free.
