Kindle- with or without special offers

I need to order a Kindle and Kindle Fire for our PTA bingo. It's $30 more without the special offers. Is it worth the extra $s not to have the offers?

I have one with the special offers, you only see them when you turn it on so its really more like a screen saver. It doesn't bother me at all.

I agree! Mine has the special offers too. You only see it when you first cut it on. It doesn't bother me at all and I don't even really notice it anymore.

The special offers are only seen on the screen saver screen, so it is not an issue. Sometimes the offers are pretty good, I got a discount coupon for Pull Ups the other day. I don't know if all the models are the same or not, but mine had a very annoying bar at the bottom of the regular screen that said "Others Also Bought" and it gave me book & app suggestions. This does not go away if you pay to have the special offers removed, but it can be removed by going into your settings.

When buying for yourself, it's easy to make the decision to deal with the ads. But since this is for a bingo prize, I'd go for the more expensive one. OR make it really really clear that this is the one with ads, and write out exactly what that means for the recipient.
