Do you have it? Do you like it? Is it worth it over just what you get from Prime? Is it truly unlimited or is it like the Prime Reading where you have to return the book before getting new ones? Wondering if I just do the free trial and don't want to continue can I just load a bunch of books on my Kindle before the free expires and will they still be there after? I usually only get my books from the Library/Overdrive and Prime Reading but the stupid Prime likes to lure you in with a first of a series and then not give you access to the rest and Overdrive does not have them either. I have had my Kindle for 8 years and have only bought 1 book, The Hunger Games Trilogy (I guess that is 3 lol) when it was on sale for 99 cents. So I am a little cheap.

I've got it - and I find I read MORE because I figure there is no buyers remorse for getting a book I end up not liking, I can't recall how many I have on my Kindle before I have to return them - I think 6? maybe 10? I also enjoy flipping thru cookbooks, and so this is a easy way to enjoy them.
I must admit I still end up buying a book here or there, plus I pick up actual physical copies of books, too. Can't quite give up the "real book" just yet !!

I am constantly going back and forth with myself about KU. Then I realize that I have so many books already on my Kindle that were free through the years that I haven't read yet. On top of what Amazon offers you to own in their top 100 free list and Kindle First , and the borrowing of books with Prime Reading I see no reason to pay a fee to get other free books just to borrow.
But then they have some deal on KU and I think- well maybe. Haven't pulled the trigger yet though.

If you do the free trial and load KU books on your KIndle you will have to keep it offline until you read them all. When the trial is over, once you connect to the internet they will be removed.

I read constantly and I just can't justify it. I get plenty of books from Libby, my local library and Kindle first that I really wouldn't get the value out of it.

i have had Kindle unlimited for over a year-at first I really did use it alot, and my oldest was using it quite a bit too-but we have both slowed way down in past 6 months. Thinking I will cancel it soon. I got it for a couple specific authors that are free on KU, but they have slowed down on output on the series I am reading, so may be worth it to just pay the $10 or so every 6 or seven months for the new book vs $10/month.

I get Amazon gift cards and load them onto my Amazon account so when I want a book, I can do it somewhat "guilt free" LOL

I used it for about 2 years. Book selection varied, sometimes not the greatest but did enjoy many books they had. Most months I felt I read my $ worth. Decided to take a break, spend some of that money on paper books.
Now that Disney planning for the next couple years is done..womp, womp, I’m thinking about starting my subscription back up.

I started with KU on Amazon Prime day, sorry I do not remember the deal. I will drop it the first time I need to purchase a book needed for book club. (And, yes, I try to get those on Libby too, but sometimes they are long wIt list).

I have it and usually renew (cancel then re-up) when I have an Amex Offer of 30% off. I read several books a day and as one pp stated, feel no shame if I'm not liking the book and don't read it to the end. I've read several enjoyable novels I would not pay for outside KU and always stack up prior to long flights/cruises/etc. Occasionally I know I'll like a novel enough to buy them and use amazon gc bought at a discount for those.
There is a limit of 10 at a time but you can return and get more as frequently as you wish. I've occasionally had trouble with wifi overseas but (knock on wood) have never run out of books on my kindle (which would be a crisis).

We have kindle unlimited and use it all the time. We have 3 people that borrow books from it and we always have 10 out at a time. I also buy it when there's a discount, black friday or the amex 30% offer.

I had it this year and didn't renew. I found I could get plenty of kindle books through my library and they're the same quality or better. I may have to wait a while for an ebook to come available through our library but at least I can get "headliners" whereas I found many of the kindle unlimited books tend to be obscure/old/lower quality.

That being said, if our library didn't offer such good ebook access, I would have considered keeping kindle unlimited, especially with a good discount. It's better than nothing if you like to read a lot and prefer ebooks.

Regarding Overdrive, your library may allow you to request books if you want to keep reading a series. Our local library system as bought 2 I asked for over the last year!

Kindle Unlimited is the one where it's not truly every book that's available on Kindle right? Only certain books that are "eligible" can be read with Kindle Unlimited? For example, if I wanted to read Mouse Tales by David Koenig on my Kindle app, I could not do it with Kindle Unlimited?

Just clarifying for myself and others who may be reading this thread.

I have it, it was on sale and I think it may have been on black Friday last year? It was highly discounted, I forget the details. I have been using it all year for about 4-5 books a month. I also purchase books that are not included.
