I have the Nook HD+ and I love it. I needed to have something portable for school and I chose the Nook because of the price point and I have a Nook color that is now outdated but I am able to keep my entire library easily.
I just bought a Kindle Paperwhite. Really only wanted it for reading books when I travel. I was holding out because I really like holding a "book" when I'm reading. But for travel purposes, don't want to be weighed down. Heard the B&N was going to stop making the Nooks, so I went with the Kindle.
I read the instructions that were loaded on the Kindle Paperwhite and it does seem pretty easy on the eyes. However, I am still confused with trying to do the set-up. So if anyone can give me some help, I'd appreciate it. My questions are below:
1. It says set-up is done and books are downloaded via WiFi. I have trouble getting WiFi at my house. It came with a USB cable. Can I complete the set-up and download via the USB connected to my desktop?
2. Can I only purchase and download books via Amazon?
3. I've read where people talk about downloading books from the library. How is that done?
If you go to the Amazon website you can search for Kindle directions. I use a Nook, so I don't have Kindle specifics. I took the Nook to my local library, they were very helpful with information on using library books.
Kind of hijacking. I have 4 days to decide Nook HD+ or Kindle Fire (I have the Kindle coupon for $40 off). Oldest DS wants an ereader and I have a Nook HD which I love but he's going away to college in the fall and I want to get him what's best for that.
My husband just bought a Google tablet this week for around $99. It has a camera, unlike a Nook (at least I am pretty sure they don't have one). So far he is pretty impressed with it
