Eligible Kindle books can be loaned once for a period of 14 days. The borrower does not need to own a Kindle -- Kindle books can also be read using our free Kindle reading applications for PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android devices. Not all books are lendable -- it is up to the publisher or rights holder to determine which titles are eligible for lending. The lender will not be able to read the book during the loan period.

That is awesome!! I am excited about that feature.

I love my new Kindle! I'm glad they have a lending program! now I just need to bug my friends to see who has a book I want to read!

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize you could do this. My mom and dad both have Kindles and there were books I have that I wish they could read. I wonder if it is hard to find books that allow lending or how many actually do this.

It is a brand new program that launched on December 30, 2010.

My mom and I were just talking about Kindles yesterday. She is thinking about getting her sister one for her birthday. We watched the Kindle demo on Amazon...I didn't realize how much you can do on the Kinde. It really has some very cool features. I have to tell my mom about the new lending feature, she'll like that.
