Kindle Fire HD - rumors on Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals?

I am ready to upgrade my first generation kindle fire to the newer one. Right now it is regular price - $99 - on Amazon.

Are there any rumors of deals on this item? I have looked on the internet a bit, but have not seen anything.

Anyone know yet?

If Amazon does put a Kindle Fire on sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday I highly doubt it will be the most current model(s). Usually it is a model or two out of date and it usually sells out within seconds (if not less).

I don't want the current model, just a newer one like the one they have for $99 now (but cheaper than $99). Mine is a first generation kindle fire and is old by tech standards.

The retailer Meijer here is having the current models of the Fire HD 6 on sale for $79 ($20 off) and the Fire HD 7 for $109 ($30 off), it will also come with a $20 off coupon for your next shopping trip on Black Friday. While it doesn't help you, someone is having them on sale I wouldn't doubt if someone else were to have something like it also.

Last year Amazon sent coupons for discounted Kindles prior to Black Friday. Ended up getting my mom a Kindle Fire for $79 which was the cheapest we saw last year and no Black Friday craziness.

From what I saw online as rumors, it looks like the HD 6 was not even going to have any BF deals - it looked like the "projected deal" was the HD 7 and the Amazon Fire TV thing.

I just decided to order it today. I have no desire to get the Fire TV or the HD 7 (the HD 6 has better reviews even though it is smaller because the screen is a bit better.

And I have my old first generation Kindle Fire sold already, so that is a bonus! I have a family member who wanted to buy one.

I opted to get the 16GB storage on it for an additional $20 (doubt that will be available as an option on BF), as opposed to the 8GB that it comes with. And ordered a cute cover for it.

I am happy and glad I don't need to stalk online to try to find a deal.

If Amazon has a deal, it will likely be a random one day deal with limited supplies sometime between now and Christmas but not generally Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I picked up my Kindle Fire HD last year on one of these deals last year around this time and have seen them offer these on all their Fire branded products over the years. Just keep an eye out, especially early in the morning.

The Deal of the Day today (11/17/14): $140 off a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9". This is not the newest model (at least that's what the banner at the top of the product page says). The newer version is the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet (looks like it has a faster processor). I'm not sure if this makes a difference to you but the $140 discount on a $400 tablet is pretty nice.

Oh, and if you qualified for their delayed billing offer a while back, it will apply to your order of this Kindle.

Being the indecisive one that I am, I cancelled my order (it still had not shipped in 2 days) and decided that since this one is the current deal of the day that maybe later this week will be the one that I want on a gold box deal.

I was willing to pay full price for the Fire HD 6", so waiting won't hurt anything. And if there is a chance of getting it cheaper from Amazon, then that would be great!

I don't think the one I want (I want the 16GB instead of the 8GB) will be on sale anywhere except Amazon this year. I thought about getting a larger one, but honestly, I want something that is smaller. My current Kindle is a good size, and I think the 6", while a bit smaller, will work better than a larger size.

Just so you know you have 30 days to return a kindle after you get it. If the price goes down in that 30 days (which I doubt it will being a current generation) you can return it and get the cheaper one. A lot of times Amazon will even just issue a refund of the difference rather than dealing with shipping another one to you.

I saw that. But it is only the 8GB and I was going to purchase the 16GB. I have a feeling that Amazon.com will be the only place to offer the 16GB, IF it goes on sale this season. That Kindle typically is an 8GB but you have the option to pay $20 and double your memory, which is what I am going to do.

I see that the Kindle on sale today @ Amazon has the different MB options - that I what I am hoping to find if mine goes on sale. If it does not, then I will pay full price. Prefer not to, but if I need to I will.

I'm interested in the HDX 7 because of the memory abilities. I've found I don't like the offerings to rent downloadable movies and shows on my Lenovo(XBox Live, whichi doesn't work well and doens't offer very much). When I travel I don't have WiFi quite often and need to be able to download rentals which the Fire does a great job with, but my current Fire with only 8GB doesn't hold much at all. The 7 model is currently at $179 base price ($20) off. Any guesses as to if this might be at a better price coming up?

I cancelled my order from Amazon.com yesterday morning. I did some thinking and decided that I am not going to stalk online stores to try to find a good deal. I think the price is already reasonable and I decided just to order it (again).

I was so excited though when I saw that the Citron color was available!!
When I placed my original order, I got black, as the citron was not scheduled to be in stock until the end of December.

See? Every cloud has a silver lining!

I reordered the Kindle in CITRON and now it is currently being prepared for shipment!

I am thrilled that while I am not getting a deal (per say) on my Kindle that I AM getting the color I originally wanted! It should be awesomely obnoxious with my turquoise Kindle case!

Amazon has just cut the price of the Fire HD7. It now starts at $119, down from $139 for the 8gig and $139 for the 16gig, down from $159.

I ordered it last night for my 5yo DD. Originally I was going to get her the Kids Kindle but the reviews are only so so.

Glad I could help. I also got the protection plan. She's been good with the iPad, but at basically $15 a year for protection it's not a bad deal to be safe.
