Kindle Fire - App question

Hi all.....
Santa gave us 3 Kindle fires....

well I am not use to the android market/amazon market (whatever you call it to get apps) i have an IPHONE and there are not a lot of the same apps....but anyway....there is one game my kids like to play, the smurfs, and its not avail. on the amazon market i guess, but i see it on the android market, but i can't download it to the kindle, it would only work if i had an android phone.
anyway, sorry went OT for a minute.
Is it true you can DOWNLOAD the android market to the Kindle Fire?
if so, does anyone know how and will I be able to get the smurfs app?

You can have access to the Android market if you ROOT your device, but rooting it voids your warranty. SO if it fries and quits working after you root it then you are just S.O.L.

You can find videos on You Tube on how to ROOT a Kindle Fire. I would advise against it. There are plenty of other apps on the Fire besides just that one that they don't have. And check the app store every day because Amazon gives away an app every day and the app of the day is an app they usually charge for but are giving away free just for THAT DAY.

Thank you, i had a feeling dl'ing the market wasn't the right thing to do, similar to jail breaking the iphone....too scared to do that.
