My dd's are almost 12 and 14. They both have color ereaders on their list. (Don't think they know about Kindle Fire). One Ipod touch just died, won't turn on did everything repair found on google and brought to Apple. No reason given, no water damage he said. :confused3 Niether one likes to read on the touch because it's too small.

Anyway, she now uses her phone for her music.

So I want to buy the Kindle fire for both. Can we take books, movies and even music and bring to Kindle Fire?? We've had Itunes accounts for years with various ipods, hate to see that all gone.

The music would move over with no problems but the rest of the media will be DRMed to iTunes and will not. I'm sure there are ways to break the DRM but it isn't legal.

You won't be able to bring the music over. With Apple there is another root problem with the music which is not the DRM as the DRM is tied not to the media used to interpret the music but the account holders information (e-mail, credit card#, etc.). Rather the problem is that Apple/iTunes uses a proprietary mp4 format for all the music as opposed to the more commonly known and used mp3 format.

ETA - OTOH you might be able to bring the books & movies over, it depends upon whether you can find an app that will run the movies and books. For example, if the books are in epub or pdf format you should be able to bring them over and use adobe digital editions to read them as ADE recognizes and authorizes documents with DRM. So, if the Kindle allows ADE to be uploaded and the books are in the right format then you'll be all set.

Amazon's MP3 program will convert their iTunes library to the correct format. I had them do it when I had an android phone so I could put my musc library onto it.

you could also burn your itunes music library to a cd then transfer it to your kindle....have no idea how to do it with the movies though

Yes you can, you just burn it to disc then rerip it into Mp3 format.
