Just wondering how all those Kindergarteners out there are doing! We have a couple of weeks under our belts now. Is all well?

Rebecca absolutely LOVES Kindergarten! She's made a new friend, who she is stuck to like glue. She talks about Delilah EVERY day, nonstop! LOL It's so cute. Today we had a playdate with her... We were there for two hours, and never heard a peep out of them! Rebecca comes home anxious to do her homework, and to tell me all about her day. I've been volunteering in the classroom, and it's such a great class. Only 16 kids! Great size!

How are all the rest of our Kindergarteners doing?

Emilie's loving Kindergarten too! She tells me that she's sad when the bus comes to pick her up at the end of the day! Guess she doesn't look forward to evenings with mom & dad!!! But I think it's great. We have back to school night next week, so I'm anxious to hear what the teacher has to say.

She has honestly been doing so much already, it's amazing. She has learned to tie her shoes (I think from other kids & not her teacher), snap her fingers, jump rope, and is really starting to recognize words, where I think she's gonna be fully reading very soon.

I know some of those things don't really pertain to Kindergarten, but she's becoming such an individual and so independant! It's so much fun to watch.

I think she might actually be sad when she misses 4 days of school in a few weeks (even if we ARE going to WDW!)

My son is loving it! He went on a field trip today. :D

Another Kindergarten Mom here! :) Gracie has been going since the end of August and seems to be adjusting well. We had an Open House earlier this week and it was fun to have her show us around and show us all the stations and things they do. Gracie also goes to extended day two afternoons (we dont have full-day) and she likes that too. It is mostly play but with structure. She loves gym as they are learning about soccer. For now she thinks shes a big shot when she has homework like her big brother. :)

Of course recess and the new playground are her favorites. She is also talking about all her new friends...tho she cant always remember their names. :)

Jill...whose apostrophe key is still broken...

My son is doing great I however still have a few teary moments! I can't get over the amount of homework he has already in K. Last week it was 7 worksheet, his sound journal and shoe box museum project.

My daugter started preschool this week and I had 5 hours to myself. What a shock!

My younger dd started Aug 9th. She loves it :) She got her first report card today! Wow!

She goes to a small private church school and there are only 7 kids in her class. In addition to the "traditional" things, they also study Spanish and memorize scripture.

Laurie :)

Another Kindergarten fan in my house! She loves her teacher and the other kids. They learn a new poem every week which she recites to us on Friday's on the way home. I was such a nervous wreck for her before-hand and now I know how silly I was being!

My DS is loving kindergarten too! He only has 16 kids in the class, I'm very glad of that. This was only our 2nd week though, so parent-teacher night will be in a couple weeks. They want to see where each child lies in the scheme of the class before they have it. He is getting so independent, my baby! I think Kindergarten is turning out to be tougher on Mommy!

My DS is doing great.

He is also bringing home lots of homework, some of which has been pretty involved.

His teacher is wonderful---sends little email tidbits every once in a while complete with digital pics of the kiddos in action :)

Just checking in. Anna loves everything about Kindergarten. Her teacher, her friends, even loves having homework. Now if only we have the same attitude when they reach 7th grade or so, we will be all set.

Another Kindergarten mom here! Katie loves Kindergarten and we were so happy that she got the same teacher that my older daughter had. Not too much homework here at all! We just had back to school night and it was great!! Can I go to Kindergarten too? It looks like fun!!!

It is nice to have a few hours to myself each day. Of course, I went back to school myself so those few hours are spent studying! :hyper:

Another Kindergarten mommy here. My dd has been going to school for about four weeks now. Interm progress reports are coming home next week. Can't believe everything they are doing. Their day is so packed with different specials and then academics. And the homework is getting harder and harder each week. It amazes me. I have also seen DD mature over the past month. It's amazing at times. She also has a small class with only 12 kids. She goes to a private school also.

My DS loves Kindergarten, also!! Has homework only on Tues. and Thurs. Has made new friends and loves his teacher!!
Today he got his first loose tooth. Couldn't wait to tell me as soon as he got off the bus!! My baby's growing up too fast!!

Hi,
A kindergarten teacher here and it was so nice to read these posts. I'm so glad your children are enjoying kindergarten. I really enjoy teaching this age because they are so ready to learn! I hope you all continue to have a great year!:)

Chris is loving it too he has made some friends and next week they go apple picking at a local farm, his first field trip.

My daughter likes it for the most part....she is a little bored by the easy work they are doing but hopefully that will change soon. She has had her name up on the board once already..she doesn't quite get the fact that she is not in charge of anything there...the teacher wanted her to write her name and use lower case letters and Kasey wanted to use capitol letters...well seh tells the teacher "you know we don't ALWAYS have to do things your way, we can change and do it our own way once in awhile!" She also said "well my heart tells me to do it this way and I am going to follow my heart"....I had to hold back from cracking up when she told me,....she just doesn't get that the teacher does not compromise LOL. I don't know where she gets this stuff from LOL!

My daughter is doing wonderful. She likes her new school and she seems to like her classmates. She still likes bringing PJ sandwich for lunch. I volunteer in the cafeteria as well as during recess almost every day so I can see my children. I also started volunteering in class, not everyday. So, I have been a busy mom, and I love it!

My son who is in 2nd grade is doing fine as well. The teacher asked me if I was his mom and I said yes, as we were walking to the cafeteria. She said that he is a wonderful student and a nice boy and he is quiet and he is doing real well. I replied thank you. Then of course, that's when I asked her about missing a few days of school in Dec for our trip and she said..."no problem". I'm soooo happy! :)
