I was reading that there is a daycare center "Kindercare" near WDW and that the CM's use this as daycare for their kids and that it is offered to guests also (depending on availability). We are not sure we want to use an in-room sitter and my DS is too young for any of the resort kid centers (3yrs old). I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this or used it. I know Kindercare is a widely reputable daycare center as we have many centers in my hometown. If we do decide to go out for a few hours alone, I would rather have my DS with other kids in some supervised/ planned activity - similar to what would be offered at the resort kid clubs. Thanks!

I remember reading about that in the UG but I couldn't find any info on it anywhere else. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has used them.

I haven't used them, but here's some more info from http://allearsnet.com/pl/childfaq.htm

What if I want to drop my child off during the day? Are there are any off-site day care facilities?

KinderCare provides daycare on a space available basis for children at least 1 year old and walking. Call (407) 827-5437 for availability on the morning of the day (call in advance for weekends) to see if space is available.

Hours: Monday - Friday 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday - Sunday 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Rates: $9.50 per hour ($42 for one 10-hour day) Lunch and snacks included. Dinner extra $2.50

Location: Administration area and Magic Kingdom Park North service area

I used the Kindercare facility in either 1997 or 1998! We had a 3 year old and 4 year old at the time! It was booked the morning of the day we were to use them. Apparently, only after WDW employees have dropped off their children...do guests have the opportunity to use the facility. I remember it being a bit costly, but we were satified with the facility, the care and cleanliness of the daycare. We even paid the bill with a personal check! They spent maybe 6 hours there...and it was located just a ways past FWC.
