I had a hard time deciding between Music and Movies for my daughter's birthday trip. I went with a preferred room at ASMu because I think she would like the pool there better. I wanted a preferred room because it is just she and I going and I don't want to be too far from the pool and food court. I just saw something on another website where people get to the resort and there are no preferred rooms left. I don't want to be all the way in the back of the resort. Has this happened to anyone? Should I change to Movies? TIA!

It is possible any time of year that they can overbook a category at ANY resort. It is possible that at any resort there are rooms out of inventory due to a refurbishment or an event that booked at that resort or maintenance issues. It is possible that you might not even get what you booked at ANY resort on property. If you read the fine print, all they owe you is a room on property.

However, that being said, the times that you get what you booked far outweigh the few people that won't get what they wanted.

For every one post that says they were overbooked in a resort and didn't get what they booked will be outweighed by the hundreds, maybe thousands of people who did get what they booked. People are more likely to post their complaints than the good parts about their trip.

I would say that falls into that category. They cannot consistently overbook and expect people to continue to book that category.

I would change based on which theming you like better, not over a couple of posts like that.

you see there is nothing too far from the food court.

so you will be fine in even a standard room - that say would make sure they refunded the money you pay for a preferrred room.

remember the old days when Disney if they overbooked would send you to a moderate hotel....

you are also pretty close to Movies - so you can go there to their food court too if you want.
