This is kinda off topic but to make it disney related, I'm not taking my bi-annual solo trip this year so that during my week of vacation I can get the essure procedure done (which is a alternative to having your tubes tied).

Has anybody had this procedure done? Also, (to make this budget related) What was the cost to you? I have a high deductable insurance plan so pretty much I'll be paying for the whole procedure. (I asked the doctors office but the lady in billing had to go home early, so they didn't know)

There is another thread here with some experiences: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=33890670&highlight=essure+procedure#post33890670

I had the procedure done about 7 months ago, and I didn't have any problems; I was able to attend a function the next night (although I wasn't supposed to). I actually disliked the three month test more than getting the implants. My doctor knocked me out for the procedure, because he was going to do a tubal as a backup plan in case he was unable to safely implant the coils. So I just woke up after a quick little 20 minute nap.

The three month test, however, was more uncomfortable because they had to inject the dye and I had to squirm all around while they took pictures from different angles to make sure everything went as planned. If you want more details, feel free to PM me, don't want to get into tmi ;)

I was fortunate to have the entire thing covered, I just had to pay the copay for two office visits. Be sure to call back and get an estimate. If the doctor is doing it in the office it would certainly be cheaper than involving the whole operating room as my MD did. Sorry I don't have info about the billing.
