I know they were at a very expensive level for a while, but that 5 pin set of Marc Davis pins on Disney Auctions were so enticing. Some "NEW" person at the last minute bid on TEN sets (TEN out of 75)...at a really really high price...making the cost go out of sight during the last 30 min or so...oh well..they're just pieces of metal. Wonder how long before that same individual starts to sell them on regular Ebay...darn

I thought about bidding on it, but it was up there in the stratosphere when I saw it. Between the Maleficent and the Tink it had to be up there in $$$. The Maleficent alone went for $110. Just think of the profits they garnered from this group of pins. They're laughing all the way to the bank.

you're so right...Disney is laughing all the way to the bank
I will watch the auction sites with interest to see the secondary market for those TEN sets...grrrrr

I had the same type of incident happen to me. There were only 5 of this pin for auction on DA. I bid for one, and was doing good. In the very last minute, this *&#@** person did a horendous bid for all 5 and got them!

I was so frustrated at his GREED! I e-mailed him and asked him about it. He said he'd be more than happy to trade one to me. I replied and said no thank you, and that he had left a bad taste in my mouth that made me steer clear al-together. He made it sound in his first reply that he was new at it. YUKKA YUKKA!! I checked his feedback and found this is a regular habit of his. I called him on it too. Oh well, I step in where angels fear to tread sometimes. I just really resented his greed. I'm sure you understand.

Blessings,
Winnie

I do hope said individual got stuck with the pins he paid so dearly for....you can only hope for justice!

Last second auction bidders are called "Snipers". I have done it and there is nothing wrong with it, but to buy all that's available is very greedy. You know that those people are going to break them up, sell them and make a little fortune. Good look in your quests.

everyone...in the life situations we are all facing right now (some more urgently than others), missing out on pins is a very small event, but I do appreciate the comforting words from y'all.

I encountered a similar situtation with some goofy auction pins for DS#1. I was figuring to suprise him for this birthday, back in August, and I had bids on a couple of those barbecue and back to school pins.

I was watching them, and everything was proceeding fine. I didn't look in the last 20 minutes because I was busy in a meeting.

Next thing I knew -- all gone!

Luckily DS#1 is 16 (not 6), and has come to know that though he would like to possess every goofy pin on the planet, he will never achieve that goal. Now I say he has "come to know" this.....I'm not saying he has "come to like this."
