KINDA budget related...

I am thinking of hiring someone to come and do some light work in my home soon, as my career will be expanding. I would like to find a REPUTABLE background check company, preferably online, that isnt going to kill my budget. Anyone have any experience with this? TIA!

Do you mean maid work? Or handy man type work?

My friend uses Merry Maids and is very pleased.

Neither...this is for after school sitting, some housework, etc. I have someone in mind, but, for my safety and kids, would like to run a background check. I am online A LOT, so this would be the easiest for me.

Merry Maids sucks.
When I had them they had to come out and reclean (they didn't even mop the bathroom floor) many times. Pretty much almost every time they came before I let them go. I asked them to come before 4 PM (easy, right?) so that they wouldn't run into me or the kids. That was my agreement with the office when I set everything up - in and out before 4PM. Did they? NOPE - they would show up at 4pm, do 40 minutes of work, then I'd have to fork out 200 bucks for their weekly cleaning. That they did a subpar job on. and then they'd act all pissy that they'd have to come back out. well, i expect the bathroom to be mopped and the toilet to be cleaned. period. i'm paying a lot of money for the service and it should at least be done to a minimal standard.
DO. NOT. DO. IT. they are a huge scam. I even ended up making a complaint to corporate.
i was telling a friend of mine about this and she said her mother had had a horrible experience as well.

I would find someone through an agency..and do my homework on the agency too, reputable ones will be licensed and bond their employees (having done that background check for you) With your children I would even contact the state you live in and see if they have some licensing/certification programs and then go from there. The person you have in mind, I would have to know more before I gave an opinion on that..someone a friend or family member has used in the past?
