Kind of strange question

I was wondering if anyone from Ontario might know the laws concerning a 24 yer old man from the U.S. chatting online and telephone with a 16 yr. old girl. I'm not sure how explicit their conversations have been but the girl does claim they were "dating". I'm just curious I know here the sex laws vary state to state.

It wouldn't surprise me if he is older than he says and by chance has the girl said she might be older? Sorry if its you Daughter but girls at that age have sometimes want to 'impress' older guys and fudge the truth. The difference between twenty four and thirty two is a lot closer than sixteen and twenty four. The sixteen year old is not an adult and the twenty four year old might just be trying to take advantage of that fact.

No he's 24 he's my dd's on again off again loser boyfriend. The girl sent my dd a msg via facebook. The girl is 16 and says she's "dating" him and wanted to know what was going on with my dd and him. I don't understand alot of this crap that goes on these sites. I'm sorry he shouldn't be talking to 16 yr. olds and even at 16 you should know your not dating someone you've never met over a 1000 miles away. It's just nuts.

Isn't the age of consent in Canada 14? I had signed a petition last year or so asking it to be raised to at least 16, if not 18, but I hadn't heard that it was actually raised.
