...but I'm looking for suggestions for post-breakup movies that I can watch. I broke up with my boyfriend (who was also my best friend) on the 4th of July and have already wallowed an insane amount; I'm ready for some cinematic-style therapy. My work allows me to watch/listen to movies all day on my iPhone and I'm starting to get bored with the ones I have. Comedy probably isn't gonna help right now; I'm lookin' for stuff along the lines of Unfaithful, A Perfect Murder, that kind of thing. It's not schadenfreude, but somehow seeing other people in relationships far crappier than mine makes me feel a little bit better. Or at least distracts me and keeps me from crying at my desk, which is embarrassing.

Oh, and as if the breakup wasn't bad enough, I also managed to cut my arm on some broken glass the night of the 4th and got to spend several hours on the 5th in the ER getting stitched up. 7 cm gash, 3 layers of stitches. Yay Fourth of July. :headache:

So any suggestions anybody has for stuff I can download from iTunes or Amazon or whatever would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

I'm sorry:hug: You kinda scared me with the "A Perfect Murder" suggestion:eek:;) How about War of the Roses, now that was a jacked up relationship or Sleeping With the Enemy. Hope you feel better soon:hug:

I don't have any suggestions, but I thought you might need this:

Deceived with Goldie Hawn was good. Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd also good.

Wow...the movies you pick have abrupt endings...yikes..

I can't think of another movie along the lines of what you are looking for, but hope things look up for you soon!!

The Women starring Norma Shearer.

I love this movie. It is about a nice lady with a husband who cheated on her big time. By the end of the movie, you just want to take your shoe off and beat her with it as she seems to be a head-strong modern woman and turns out she isn't! (What a moron!)

It just makes me, as a 2000's kinda gal, to realize how far we've come and how women are indeed, sometimes better off without "him."

The other versions of this movie doesn't do it justice, so don't waste your time.

Thanks, everybody! Yeah, I realized after I posted that I might sound a little loose upstairs with those particular movie suggestions...what I meant was just that I'd like something dramatic and/or suspenseful that I have to focus on so I'm not spending time thinking, KWIM?

I really do appreciate the suggestions; I'll definitely give 'em a try!

Can't think of any movies right now but wanted to give you this  and if I think of some I will be sure to post

forgetting sarah marshall?

I know you aren't looking for a comedy, but its a great post-breakup movie. very different than what you requested, but might still fit the bill if not now, at some point hopefully soon.

another comedy, Dirty love.

I have some old ones Jagged Edge, no Way Out

Kae

my suggestion is another comedy....i know i know....

ruthless people

It's an 80's movie with Danny Devito and Bette Midler - the husband celebrates when the wife is kidnapped and refuses to pay the ransom....

Ooh, those are some fantastic suggestions, everybody! I'm downloading a bunch of them right now. They should definitely help tide me over.

Thanks again!!

That's a funny movie.

How about Thelma and Louise?
