Kimonos

I have some questions about Kimonos and their karaoke nights.

How crowded does it get on weeknights? What time is it best to go to get a seat and get a few songs in? Is it feasible to do this in 2 hours' time?

Hubby and I have an adults' night out, but Simba's Clubhouse closes at midnight, so we'd have to get out of Kimonos by 11:15/11:30 at the latest, right? How much time would we need to get back to AKL from there (Swan/Dolphin, can't remember off the top of my head) if we're driving our own car?

Oh, and I should mention that we have ADR at Yachtsman at 7:00. Should I have made that a little earlier?

We go every trip - but we also make it our meal because we love sushi. We go around 8:00, that way we can eat and get a good seat for karaoke. It's so much fun...and if you like sushi I must say it's excellent. They have great champagne cocktails as well. The weekends can get crowded, but that makes it more fun. I would get there by 8:00 on weekends. The weekdays just vary. We've gone and it's been empty and we've gone and it's been crazy...I guess it depends on whether a convention is going on.

Karaoke starts at 9pm. The last time we went, it wasn't full at all - we had probably 20-25 people in the whole restaurant. If you want the couch, you'll have to come early, since there's only 2 of those, but otherwise, right after Yachtsman should be fine.

Thanks for the comments! I decided to go ahead and change our PS for Yachtsman to 6:00 since I don't know how quickly we'd get in to the 7:00. Plus it just gives us a longer night

When I called to change the PS, the CM mentioned that it's a week from today and it just hit me HARD!

Woohoo!

A week from today, we'll already be there having a blast!!!

We are staying at the Swan the 17th and 18th and plan to go to Kimonos on the 17th. We LOVE sushi and plan to get carry out. We could stay for the Karaoke, but we are driving down that day from Athens, GA and I'm not sure DD4 and DS7 can handle it....

17 days. and counting. Wooo hoooo!

We're leaving on the 4th too! Going 6/4-6/12, maybe we'll see you there. DH is still trying to fit a Kimonos in for me (I love the sushi). We'll be staying at the Dolphin the first 4 nights, then CR 2 nights, and BC 2 nights (for the kids ).

Anyway, if you happen to see these 2 kids around, say hi to us, we love meeting DISers.

Does Kimonos take reservations? And do we need them? We'd like to dine there on July 25, a Monday night. And does anyone know, do they still offer a DVC discount? Thanks!
