Kilimanjaro in the evening

We've all read that Kilimanjaro Safari is better in the morning (the animals are more active), but what about the last run of the day? We're going down in November and the last run of the day, which we plan on taking, is at 6pm. Will there be that much of a difference from an early morning run?

Thank you.

1. That information is an often-repeated myth, in itself.
2. Different animals are active at different times of day. Each and every trip will be different.
3. The last run may or may not be at or near 6pm. Too soon to tell.
4. Yes. But, it does not mean it will be a disappointing trip.
Have fun!

There's no way to know what you will see at any given time of the day, morning or night. People may "feel like" they see more in the morning, or afternoon, but it's random. They're wild animals, WDW can't control when they walk around, take a nap, etc... So ride it when you want to ride it and hope for the best.

I did both an early run and a 6:45 run this last week. The animals were about the same activity level. We got a better view of the lions in the evening, but the were still just laying around. The ostriches were really close to our morning truck and the bearded wildebeest was close in the evening.

I'd personally fast pass the AM ride, we had a 6:30-7:30 FP, park closing 8:30 and we walked on no fastpass needed.

I think weather plays a larger part than time of day with sun out. Just like us, they lounge in shade when it's frying hot sun out and roam around more when it's comfortable. Nov is a good time as the temps are starting to come down, the humidity is coming down..
Now that the safari can run in the dark there is a very very narrow window where the animals are much more active at night. Basically if you can time it so your starting your truck ride right at dusk where it's just dark when you finish you'll see the various animals start to move around to get into safety for those predictor hours and then the predictors start to come alive ready for the all night hunt. If you go a little earlier, its about the same as the rest of the day. If you go a little later it's just too dark to see most things even when they are next to you.

certain times of year I would say first thing in the morning is better but that's when it's nice out in the morning but by noon-2pm it's just too hot.. again comes back to weather. overall most of the time as previously stated they will be about the same for that day and they are all different types of animals so they each have different habits for when they do what so it's always a different ride.

I think I prefer daylight safaris, at least if there are animals out you can see them. Last month I did KS at dusk, and again after dark, there may or may not have been animals, all I could see were shapes in the distance. :confused3
