What time do you think is the best time to ride Kilimanjaro Safari? We have an ADR at Boma, for B-fast at 9 a.m. and AK opens at 9. I'm guessing the best time would be ASAP in the mornin, is it good in the afternoon as well? Thanks!!

Hmmm... How about go there first thing, get a fast past, go eat then go back? Would that work for you?

KS is usually best done first thing to avoid lines. Otherwise, just FP it and don't worry about it.

While generally, it seems that morning is the best, but we've gone on one late afternoon safari and had the best ride we've ever had. Granted, it was raining at the time (or had just ended - I can't remember) which the animals seemed to love.

If you can't be there early in the morning, you may want to wait until later in the day, closer to the park closing.

First thing in a.m. more animals our out not trying to hide from the heat.

Any time you can get on it. Eventhough we go down during the people-packed months of July and August we always try to ride KS at least 5 times. You will see different animals active during different times of the day. The best experience we've ever had was riding right after it rained. The Zebras were stampeding down the hill! But other times we have ridden it under the hot mid-day sun and seen the elephants chasing each other around. If you are really an animal freak like DW and I, ride it early and often. Have fun at Boma breakfast, it is the best.

I can tell you from experience that going on the safari as early as possible is the best! We have gone on the safari many times but never first thing in the morning, we did that this past March and the experience was totally different there were so many animals out and about, we decided if we cant get to it first thing in the morning we will wait for another day..

The earlier the better. When we were there in June it was close to noon, and it was so hot. We hardly saw any animals. Last year we were there earlier in the morning, and saw much more.

Especially during the warmer months as early or as late in the day as is possible. Safari guides on the Sunrise Safari have said this each time we've gone.

My best ride came during a rain shower in July :umbrella: . It was around 3:00. There was a steady rain and the crowds cleared out. For the heck of it, we went on the Safari. Boy, were the animals active! They seem to enjoy the rain, especially in the hot months.
