kids want roller coaster, parents don't like it

I will be in Disneyland with 6yo, 8yo that want to try simpler roller coaster and fast rides. I am a roller coaster wimp and worried about it :( things I tried in the past:
  • Pirates of Caribbean (in Florida) - it was actually ok, the first drop was borderline for me but I can manage it
  • Grizzly river run - the last drop was a bit scary for me. I'm ok with something "almost like it" but not more scary than that for sure.
  • The simplest kids roller coaster in a local park - did not enjoy at all that feeling in the stomach
  • Any ride with fast movement in screens gives me a nausea so not too much on that front
What are some rides in both Diseny and DCA you recommend me to take the kids so they get some of that excitement and I'm around the comfort zone? Thanks!
You’re not alone. I used to be a roller coaster wimp too, and I even chickened out of a coaster in Orlando (it wasn’t at a Disney park). That was super duper traumatizing but I rode it almost 6 years later (with a high five from a beautiful girl prior). Nowadays when I’m on stuff like that, I usually scream the Loud House theme song when the most intense drops occur. Believe me, it makes going through the weird feeling a lot better.

Of course, I know it’s not for everyone. As such, if you’re still too scared to endure those types of attractions, I do recommend either the Sailing Ship Columbia or It’s a Small World, as those aren’t intense rides.

interesting, how bad are Racers and Big Thunder? Those are the ones I was going to try since no big drops... I'm trying not to use the thing on your wrist or anything else...
I'm not a coaster person but I like both of those a lot. Big Thunder has sharper turns than RSR but neither is as wild as the Matterhorn. It sounds like kikismom is especially sensitive to motion changes, but you can look at more videos and reviews and perhaps they'll look fine to you.

Suck it up. Height limits, 6 year old, will exclude some. The rest, deal with a few minutes of a ride you don't like

Yes! Watch the videos is a good idea. Before my daughter tried some, even ones she'd seen on earlier trips, we watched videos from the POV of the person riding. At least then you can give if you think you can handle it or not.

@Lewisc, easier said than done to suck it up. If I did that on some rides it would be shut down while they cleaned out my barf.

Probably not. We suck things up for our kids.

I agree we, as parents, do tend to have to suck it up for our kids. But there is a difference between not liking and being scared of or something making you sick. If the OP just didn't like a ride I would say ya, suck it up for the kids. If the OP is legitimately scared of a ride or the ride makes her sick then this is case were I think the kids have to understand that this is just not a ride mom can go on.

I remember riding Grizzly River Rapids over and over at night because my older daughter loved it. I did this for her. But I can not do circle rides, so that meant we skipped Dumbo and others.

I am a rollercoaster wimp. But I love love Thunder Mountain. If you can time it when the fireworks are going off then it's super magical. I didn't like Chip and Dale in Toontown and I absolutely will not go on Incredicoaster. I will go on Goofy's Sky School once per trip but only because it's my kid's favorite ride.

I have to go on Goofys Sky School once per trip as well. I loathe ever second of it but she is so happy. We have to take a break after that one though where I can sit and get myself not so dizzy again.

Dramamine is super helpful for this. I had to buy some from the shop on Buena Vista Street during my trip in May because of how bad the motion sickness/dizziness hit me. I've always gotten it to some degree but nothing like I did then. Now it is part of my pre-park regimen.
