Help! I think I read somewhere that kids under three eat free at character meal buffets. Is this correct? What about character meals that serve family style meals? What about non-character buffets? We will be taking our twins next year, one month before they turn three, and want to get the most for our money! Any help clearing up my confusion would be most appreciated.

Also, I cannot seem to find this info online, I forgot where I read it, so if anyone knows a webpage where I can find this info, I would appreciate that also.

Thanks! :)

I believe this to be true. We took our DD to Disney last year when she was 9 months old. At Chef Mickey's I got food for her right off the buffett, and at the buffets served family style the waiters asked if there was anything special I wanted for her. I got mac n' cheese, no charge. She also ate stuff off of our plates. (She's a broccoli fanatic!).

Yes kids under 3 eat free at buffets, character meal or not. As far as family style meals, such as Ohana, our then 2 yo did not get charged. You will have to pay for a meal at a TS restaurant if you want your child to have their own meal. The food is so plentiful, though, at TS and CS, that you should easily be able to share. Just ask for an extra plate. You will have to pay for a beverage unless you have your own sippy cup or something.

HTH :)

We went in January with a DS2 on DP and did not pay for him at any meals- just shared and he had his own at buffets. He was always served a drink-even at TS- and we never were charged.

You only pay for food you order at restaurants that have a menu at either TS or CS.

You do not have to pay at buffets, pre-plated or all you can eat restaurants.

I took 2 1/2 y/o twins in FEB and they ate free at buffets, like Crystal Palace (yummy breakfast) and all you can eat character meals, like Liberty Tree Tavern (which we LOVED). At other restaurants it's sort of "assumed" they'll eat off your plate. We usually ordered 1 child's meal and the boys shared it...there was PLENTY for them to eat with 1 meal. We had no problems getting the staff to bring an extra plate. Often they would even separate the child's meal into 2 plates in the kitchen for us so we didn't have to do it ourselves at the table.
