I would love to hear what you are all putting in your kids stockings:goodvibes
I love to get different ideas and keep it fun but budget minded.
I remember my stocking was one of my favorite parts of Christmas day when I was younger.

For DD (11) so far I have
Toiletries.. she loves to have her own shampoo and body wash and not to use what the rest of the family is using:snooty:
A small Itunes gift card
Socks and underwear (yes.. I am "that" mom:rolleyes1 )
2 Webkinz (found a really good deal for them)
Some chocolate
And from there I am drawing a bit of a blank

DS (4)
I'm having trouble with this one
Other than the traditional socks and underwear
and some cars I am stuck.
Maybe some stickers and candy?

Would love to hear what you all get for your kids and get some ideas:goodvibes

I would also be interested.

For DD (turns 7 this weekend - lovely just 25 days before Christmas) : I have Webkinz trading cards, small AG stuff, character pens.

Thinking about hitting Target $ section: She loves doing her nails.

I was at Michaels today and they put in an entire area of $1.00 items that would make great stocking stuffers for all different ages. I plan to go back and pick some up.

Hey, I'm a "sock and undies" mom too!!! :lmao:
Maybe the 4yo would like a new book or coloring book and crayons, that colored foam soap for the bathtub, a new toothbrush (hey, socks and undies, why not!), a little lego set.

My kids are getting:

9 yo DD-
Candy
Socks & undies
Paperback Books
Girly bath products, from B&BW
Hair accessories

7yo DS-
Candy
Socks & undies
Legos
Hot Wheels
Toboggan & gloves

Does your son like Playmobil or Imaginext? Mine loved them both at 4... Both lines have packages of figures that would be great for a stocking. I'm trying to think of some other favorites... My guy has always loved books - so there's usually at least one in his stocking. I have put a DVD in the stocking as well - no plans on that this year... He's 7 now so it will likely be a DS game... ;) Oh and a manatee webkinz - they are addictive aren't they? ;) What about a Color Wonder set or other coloring book? Does your son use a Leapster yet? I drug my feet a bit on electronics with mine - didn't get a Leapster until he was about 5 - think he was 5.5... My Mom got him a silly little reindeer once that "pooped" candy - would never have occurred to me, but he thought it was funny. Oh and something else that always goes in the stocking is a toothbrush... I buy a fun powered one at Christmas... Tooth Tunes last year, Sponge Bob the year before and I think Spidey the year before that... I often add toothpaste too - heck he needs it and he still thought it was neat. :) Of course candy is always a hit... Hope this helps! If I think of anything else I'll post again. Oh and Legos - he's been nuts for them for at least three years. I can't remember the Duplo sets though - I'm sure they must have some that are stocking size...

Last year my DD got a toothtunes tooth brush and she loves it. It was by far the most favorite thing in her stocking. My parents (opps Santa) always use to put an apple and orange to fill the space.

My parents (opps Santa) always use to put an apple and orange to fill the space.

My parents did that too! When I had kids I decided apples and oranges weren't going to cut it. Not that I wasn't thankful..:rotfl: ...but I could get fruit out of the kitchen.

Santa and the Easter Bunny always bring a new toothbrush to combat the candy! For dd also usually hair stuff, art stuff, Target Dollar Spot stuff.

For my nephew last yr, I put in a small K'Nex that I got for free. Bath tub crayons or bath water color changing tablets.

I think I will put socks & underwear in her stocking this yr. She would like that!

Thanks for the ideas!

Great ideas everyone! Thank you:)
And I am happy to see other sock and undie moms out there!:lmao:

Traditionally I do a magazine, book, and activity book in every stocking...also toothbrushes and different itmes that I would have to buy them any way (ie soap toothpaste etc..)...always have some type of candy and some type of gum. My favorite places to shop for stockings are Claire's in the 10 for $10 section, Target dollar spot, and Michael's dollar section.

Ok, stockings are my FAVORITE part of Christmas - always have been!

I'm out of ideas with him - same with presents. He is so easy to please and happy with everything (which I'm thankful for) but he has only asked for a camera - other than that he says 'whatever'. I NEED IDEAS! LOL The other two have lists miles long........not sure how we got one as laid back as my little guy.

Walmart has 2/$1.00 pocket handwarmers. I bought 4 for DS17 who runs track when it's still freezing outside and sometimes does overnight camping trips while it's still cold. Good stocking stuffer for older kids.

I am still working on the stocking stuff for the boys. That is what I have left for them. This what what I have (or will get)

toothbrush
dollar Target starwars stuff
candy
life saver book

DS4, plyamobil people
DS7 playmobil people, tape (he uses my tape all the time)

DS9-bag of sunflower seeds

past that still thinking. I try to pick up little things as I find them. Walgreens often has pencils and such.

All my shopping for my boys are done EXCEPT for the stocking stuff. They are 11 and 13. I know my 11 yr old will get the Guitar Hero DS game in his stocking and 13yr old will get the AC/DC RockBand game in his stocking. Other than that, they ALWAYS get one of those huge Hershey Kisses (even though it doesn't actually FIT in the stocking)
a toothbrush
deodorant
those plastic candy filled candy canes
some other random candy

Other than that, I'm stuck. It's so much harder once they start getting older.

I'm not done yet, but here's what I've got:

DD12-
this fuzzy worm thing from Walmart
socks
toothbrush
probably hair acc., and I like the Taylor Swift cd idea

DS11-
fuzzy thing
tech decks (he's just getting into these)
computer game
Reds winter cap
nerf wristbands (freebie from Hasbro.com with nerf gun purchase)

DS9-
fuzzy thing
wood building kit from Scout shop
harmonica
tech deck
Hot Wheels car

DS7-
fuzzy thing
moon sand
computer cd
Hot Wheels Car

DS4-
fuzzy thing
tech deck
2 computer cds
underwear
play-doh

And they will all get a toothbrush and candy. The computer cd's were the $3.95 ones.

One of my FAV places for sticking stuffers is The Cracker Barrell Resturant, they have a lot of cute stuff at great prices, old fashion toys, and toys that travel well, also a good variety of different kinds of candy you don't see just everywhere. This year I also found a few things at my local World Market. I'll try and come back later and post specifics :santa: .

So far we have...
DS(13):
itunes gift card
gum

DD(8 3/4):
itunes gift card
jibbits for crocs
tic-tacs
turtle pin ($4 at Kohl's)
watch ($7 at gymboree to match an outfit she is getting)

Looks like their stockings are still pretty empty and we have some more shopping to do ;)
Other ideas for this year or items from Christmas past:
books
lotion/body wash
lip gloss
nail polish
travel games/cards
magic washcloths from Disney Store (can usually get on sale about $1)
lego sets
tape dispenser/stapler
favorite (special occasion) candy (giant pb cup for DS & truffles for DD)
socks & underwear (but not every year)
page-a-day calendar
markers/drawing pencils/pens
hot cocoa packets (different flavors)
tennis balls/golf balls
hair items
hat/gloves
small American Girl items
cologne/perfume/body spray (travel size too for PE bag/locker)
Christmas tree ornament
:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:

I love World Market! I always buy the German candies for DS (7) stocking... It's good quality and the Santas etc are too cute.

I thought of some other things DS has loved the past few years - Papo pirates - he's been all about pirates since he was 3 - still plays with them. I also bought him some of the Schleich knights, but he's never played with them as much...

The other thing he's been wanting this year are the new Mega Bloks knights - the ones that move - he thinks those are slick. He too has a list a mile long, but he doesn't expect it all. He's easy too - really loves everything. Of course that doesn't mean he continues to play with everything as time goes by - that's why the pirates have been such a good deal - 3 years and counting of play for them... I think only Thomas and Lego can beat that run! LOL

You know I really have to do an inventory... I think I'm pretty well done, but honestly have no idea... We did a number of Wii and DS games this year - TRUs buy 2 get one sale... Have a Nerf gun game thing - he's been after a gun for eons - Mommy finally caved. ;) I ran into a killer deal on a Papo jousting set at TJ Maxx - only $5!! Bought him the Crayola Glow Board - the one that flips between scenes... I know there are some other things - can't remember what... Oh there's a new Sequence game - States. We like playing Sequence and thought it would be a good add-in... I also want to order some things from Mindware - just got their catalog for the first time - LOVE IT! There are several things - Dinner Games for one - think that would be a hit.

I'm usually done by now - running late this year. I also tend to shop and stuff and then forget what I've done. It's always like a scavenger hunt when I start pulling things out and wrapping. LOL
