Kids stay free, summertime?

I just paid for my June trip, 2 adults, 2 kids for 6 nights, and dining plan for $2424 or so at Pop with 15% room discount.

Now I see kids stay free on the main website. I punched my data in and it tells me $2141.

So, can I call now that I've already paid the balance (booked back in November, paid in April) and have it changed? Would that be a hassle? Am I reading this "kids stay free" correctly?

You should be able to. How much hassle it is depends on the CM you get. I don't think it is as simple as it sounds. However some CM's just put stuff in and get it done while others make every step seem like an ordeal.

Kids always stay free, the deal is really the play free meaning their tickets (base only, you still pay for any add ons)- which are about 200 each. Which matches up with your numbers. Lose the 15%, add the free kids.

I wanted to add - They will probably charge you $50 for making the change since I think you are withing 45 days and the price is going down.

Also, that deal does not effect the dining. The disney visa cardholder deal has the same kids stay and play free but also includes dining.

What is this about the dining? I have a Disney Visa and I put the $200 deposit on it, but I used a different card to complete the balance owed. Kids also eat free with the Disney Visa?

Unfortunately, I did some CC balance swapping around and moved a high interest balance over to my Disney so there isn't any more room. Maybe I could do some more swapping around to make room?

I think all you have to put on it is the deposit, but I'm not sure how that is handled when you change discounts. Check out this link to get the info and code from the disney reward site

It is the same deal as the public code but it includes the kids dining saving an extra 10/night/kid so in your case an extra $120. This is for Quick service, but you can pay to upgrade to whichever plan.

Since I asked the question, I'll confirm the answer...

2 adult 2 children, POP 6 night w/ 6 hopper park tickets (no water park), dining plan, mid-June

$2785 - Original booking, $200 deposit.

$2424 - At 45 days I called, took the park hopper off (~$200) and asked about 25% off value resort room. The CM gave me the current 15%, I was a day late on the 25%. Balance was paid.

$2190 - Called a few hours after asking this thread. The CM looked up the "kids stay and play free" and said "no problem". I was already paid up, so my card will be credited. I did have to pay a $50 fee to change it because I was within 45 days.

So, it definitely worked. Saved almost $600, which pretty much pays for the dining plan ($60 difference.) Free dining would have been a great discount and this is nearly that. I'm quite happy.


Funny, we had no thoughts on going to Disney. We had no thoughts on being able to go on vacation for quite a few years yet. I told the family, heck with it, we both work now, we are going somewhere, and priced out a beach trip. Figured it would cost us about $2000. Then I looked up Disney for S&G's and figured out a trip for 4 days would cost us about $2100. Thus, we decided to take the kids to Disney for 4 days. As we looked at stuff, the trip grew until we were at the 6 day mark with dining for the above $2700ish. I didn't want to spend that, but 4 days wouldn't have been enough. Now after 5 months of waiting and planning, the trip is back down to the original $2100 we wanted to spend.
