kids shows??? ugh!!

come on!
really?

on the cartoons i used to watch as a kid there was ACTUAL stuff to be worried about, Ren & Stimpy for example.
But it didn't influence me in a negative way.

When you're a kid you don't understand what they are talking about.

Like Animaniacs for example, it was funny to me then, but it's funnier now because I actually GET the jokes.

Anyway, being 18 and understanding unnuendo & double entendres, i see nothing wrong with spongebob. :confused3

lol umm.. with all of the stuff happening in the world that can influence kids today, i think saying "barnicles" should be the least of your worries... plus, there was a whole spongebob episode about cursing, and at the end, they all got in trouble for it... so its not like its teaching kids to say bad words or anything ;)

I cuss...a lot, but I swear in Mandarin most of the time (YAY! for multi-lingual swearage!). However, when I'm around little kids or even my parents I tone it down. My friend Lia says "Ding-Dong" instead of swearing at volleyball practice.

I figure it's something these kids are going to find out sooner or later, but I'd prefer that they use "barnicles" compared to anything else until they know when to use "unacceptable" words and when to not.
