Does anyone know any kind of sewing machine for kids that is decent. I don't want one that is going to jam on her all the time but I don't want a real good adult one either...thanks!

Well, first of all, I wouldnt buy any "kids" machine. It would be much better to look in your local "sales" paper (bargain mart etc) and find a used model. I personally would find a singer, that has the set in bobbin (no bobbin case, thats too hard). And one that has an inner tension when you thread it (no tension wheel on the outside.) Other than that , simple is better, if you go to your local sewing machine store and tell them exactly what you are doing they can show you some, and might have some used ones as well. Good Luck!

We have been through just about every one of the "kid's" machines and they were all pieces of junk. My Mom ended up buying the kids an inexpensive Singer that she found on sale at JoAnn's for about $100 that has held up just fine. I don't know much about sewing machines but I know this one had a bobbin and the cheaper models did not.

Bernina also makes a really good 'beignner' model that is not too expensive. My neice learned to sew on this machine and has now graduated to a much better machine. I agree with other posters...don't buy a kids machine, they are a waste of money.
