What have you recently heard out of a child's mouth that has made you smile?

I just have to laugh at some of the things that come out of my
daughter's mouth. Here is a conversation between my husband and my
daughter. She was fighting sleep and her 18-month old sister was
already asleep in her crib in their room.

DD4 – Sissy is asleep but she is not dreaming.

DH – How do you know that she is not dreaming?

DD4 – Because I don't see any bubbles with words in them above her crib

You just have to love the way their little minds work.

There are lots!

The latest - DS came home from school after learning about firemen. He told me "If your clothes and underwear are on fire, then you look around for a place where there aren't any toys, then you Stop, Drop and Roll."

LOL

But I gotta tell you, if my underwear is on fire, I'm not going to worry about the toys!!!

:teeth:

My son broke a toy and said, "me broke it." Trying to correct his grammar I said, "I broke it." He said, "Ahh Mommy, you broke it?"

This happened to me right after we introduced my DS to the original Hulk series (starring Bill Bixby)

He kept pushing my buttons and I finally said Nicholas stop it or you are going to make me mad and you know what happens when I get mad.

He said " you turn green"

Got to love those young ones!

Thanks for the smiles! I love hearing or reading what the "little ones" say. Too cute!

From my 4-year-old DD while driving down the road: "Look Mommy, there's a cemetary. That's where all the dead people live!".

When my son was three we were going to the inlaws for dinner and my husband said in a baby voice to my son "do you know where we are going today?" and my son replied in a very mature, surprised voice "yes, we are going to your mother's house, didn't you know that?"

Although this may not be funny, it certainly melted my heart. My DD4 said to me this weekend, "Mommy, I don't just love you, I have fun with you too.":teeth:

Then last night when we came home from running errands after school and work I ask her to put her shoes up that she had left in the dining room. Her reponse, "Well Mommy, your my mother, and if YOU don't put YOUR shoes up that teaches me that I don't have to put up mine!" It seems my shoes were on the other side of the dining room table - ooopsie! Don't ya hate it when they are right like that!::yes::

It is fun to hear what they say. Thanks everyone for posting.

I just thought of something else my oldest said recently. I was driving downtown after the Race for the Cure had just ended. Hundreds of people were walking to different parking structures. There were three clowns walking down the street.

My daughter said “Look mom! I didn’t know clowns live in OUR town.”

My DS told me he loved my eyes. "The white parts and the blacks parts too." Pure poetry!

And when he runs away he says "Run for your yikes!!"

DH and I write down the cute stuff, and get sad when we notice something has gone away. Like when he used to say "hold you" instead of "hold me" when he wanted to be picked up.

But now I have a little girl who just learning to talk - a whole new set of cute things is coming!!

:earsgirl:

My DS (3) is very independent and never wants help from us. The other day he was getting his dinosaur shirt on and he put it on backwards. I asked if he wanted help and he told me he'd fix it. He came out a minute later and it was still backwards. Still didn't want help. He came out the third time with it backwards so I went over to fix it after I turned it around I noticed it was his Disney shirt not the dinosaur one. ( They are the same color). He told me his " Dinosaur shirt wasn't working. It was broke. So I put it back. I'm gonna wear this one. It's not broke."
