Kids races and Dopey challenge

We are thinking about signing up our kids for the races. 1 for the diaper dash and the other for mickey mile. I am trying to figure out transportation and which day in your opinion works best.
How long does it take to get back to resorts(SSR) once I finish?
Are the races worth doing? Kids don't really care just sounds fun to us.
Should we just drive to WWOS or is it faster to take buses.
Any info about the races I would really like to hear

Thursday or Friday should be the best days to make the kids races. Although still possible on Saturday if you have a good corral and 1/2 marathon time. We are planning for Friday after the 10k to do the kid's races. We are staying at BLT though and have monorail access.

From the program guide I believe the kids races start at 11am at the ESPN center.
