I just wanted to ask someone who has been recently how they currently keep track of Kids QS vs Adult QS. I saw last time that meals are all pooled together. How do they know if you are ordering from the kids menu vs the adult menu? If the kids menu is available but daughter doesn't want to eat anything from there, could I order her an adult meal?
Thanks for your help!

The rules say you have to order a kids meal for your kids. You will not be able to order more adult meals than there are adults on on the plan, at least not at one time.

On our last trip we were able to order adult CS meals for my son. We were on DxDP though where all the credits are technically for TS, so that may have been the difference. We ended up speaking to the Manager at the AoA food court because my son wanted to order the adult waffle and I wanted to know if that would end up being subtracted from my adult meal allotment and they explained that for counter service meals, they don't see a distinction when cashed out, they just charge it as 2 meals. It worked out fine, I was not short any adult TS credits later in the week.

Deluxe credits are not "for TS." They are completely interchangeable between TS and CS.

We had 2 kids with pretty big appetites on our plan. One, age 7, counted as a disney kid and one, age 10, counted as a disney adult. Our routine was one parent partnered with each child when we went through a counter service place and we checked out separately. Occasionally they both wanted kids meals, and we checked out as 1adult/1child + 1adult/1child. Other times, they wanted adult choices and we checked out as 2adult + 2adult. It all worked out in the end, as it was the right number of credits overall, if not at each meal.

I am told this may not have worked if we all checked out at once with 4 adult meals while our plan displays as 3+1child, but because we checked out separately, I guess they had know way to know how we were divided up?

Disney's rules are that a child on the DP MUST order a kids meal. Are there ways to work the system? Yep. But discussing ways to get around Disney's rules have always been against the rules of the board.

Did you mean my post? I'm not trying to get around the system - do you think my practice violated the spirit of the rules? I thought that even though you are allocated "1 TS, 1QS, 1 snack per person per night" that you can use the credits in any order/quantity you like. For instance, I could eat 2 signatures on one day, using up 4 TS credits in one swoop and then use QS the rest of my trip. Since I did the same with the kids meals (ordered 2 some days and 0 some days, instead of 1 each day) I thought it was the same kind of thing - I used the correct number of kids' meals and adults meals over the course of the trip. If you (collective DIS "you") think I was not using the plan properly, I won't post my experience any more. I appreciate a business having rules and people who follow them vs trying to skirt them thinking it's somehow their right; that wasn't my intention.

If you were just commenting in general, I apologize for thinking it was directed specifically at me. Thanks.
