One kid is 7 and the other is 12 and I'm sure they would want to order from the same menu. We are on the regular dining plan. Can i use my 12 yo TS credits for both kids in some restaurants and my 7 yo's credits for both in other restaurants?

Thanks in advance!

The short answer is YES, most likely.

However, I have heard that sometimes Disney won't let you pay for someone else's meal with your credits. The principle is the same. Kid A would be "paying" for Kid B's meal with his credits.

I don't see why this is a problem because they are your credits, you should be able to use them how you want them. And in my experience, it hasn't really mattered who had what. It would just be like you footing the bill for someone else if you were paying cash.

Just saying, others have noted you "may" run into problems trying to have one kid pay for the other. However, those problems are usually centered around one person paying for someone who is NOT on the dining plan. Since all of the credits should be on your account, they will probably let you use them how you want.

They changed this a little while ago - u can now pay for anyone with dining credits - even offsite guests. I had 4 ppl on our dining plan last March and had zero issues paying for a table of 8 with our credits.

OP: it shouldn't be a problem. Just tell your waiter. Also, remember that QS credits do not differentiate between adult and kids so u can use all your QS credits for adult meals only if u wish.

Good to know. I literally saw people talking about that issue on here like two days ago, though. They were probably just speaking from experience before this change. Like I said, I personally haven't had any issues doing whatever. Your credits are your money, you can do what you want with them. Just repeating what others have brought up.

I think you'll have trouble redeeming a kids credit for the 12 year old, even if he orders from the kids menu.

Let's say you're staying for six nights. That means you MUST order six kid's TS meals somewhere on your trip. They will be noted on your receipt and in your account. So why not look over the menus where you're going NOW and see what they want to order? If you know when you walk in that both kids want an adult meal, please ask your server if you can get 4 adult meals and be sure you tell them you know you're using an adult credit. If it's the other way around and both want a kid's meal, ask if you can use 2 kid's credits and get 2 kid's meals. I think this will work better if it's done with 2 kid's meals first. That way, when you ask to use 4 adult credits, they will be able to see you have more adult meals than kid's meals.

However, those kid meals are pretty small and may not be enough food to fill up your 12 yr old. You can usually get an adult portion of a kid's meal for an adult credit, but that won't help you when your 7 yr old wants an adult meal.

Personally, I'd be telling the 7 yr old that Disney's rules are they have to order from the kid's menu when at a TS restaurant. If there's something on the adult menu they really want, I'd probably order that for myself and let them have some of mine.

I would tell them that they get to share each meal. They can take turns picking from the adult menu/children's menu. This way you use 1 child and 1 adult TS credit for them for each meal.

I don't think a 12 year old will be full and happy with a Disney Kid meal. You could upgrade your 7 year old to an adult and they can both do adult. I agree sharing everything might be a good choice. Adults could share too. The year that DS was about 4 or 5 he announced he was not ordering off that silly Kid menu. He shared every meal with me and while his meals for sit down went to waste, w did have plenty of food.
