What an evening this has been! DS 21 calls me this afternoon from Corpus Chrisiti, TX to tell me that he almost flooded his car, is stuck on the freeway, and that they are under a Tornado Warning, Flash-Flood Warning, and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning!
On his way home from college, he exited the freeway into standing water that came up to the top of his tires. Thank goodness he was able to back up the ramp, and back onto the freeway. This is where he sat for nearly two hours because traffic was not moving because of the flooding below, and in low areas. He finally manages to get home driving through small amount of standing water to find flooded parking lot at his apartment complex. Parks at the office, and walks to the apartment. I am breathing a sigh of relief because he is home safe. He then calls to tell me he has no electricity, and that there are tree limbs lying around the parking lot, and out in the bay. There are no trees growing anywhere around his apartment other than a few palm trees.
Rains stops, elec. company working on whole side of Corpus to get elec. back up so he decides to drive back to campus to do his homework which is saved on a computer program which he can not access at home do to power failure.
Hence, the next phone call. Someone has stolen his front license plate off of his car, bolts and all. I call Police Dept to report stolen plate since car is registered in my name. Thank goodness his last call at 9:00 P.M. was to report that electricity is back on, and he is home safe. What a Day!!!
When it rains, it POURS!
LOL I'll need more hair color to cover up that gray! They say is runs in threes. Anyone else have one of these days?
