From what I'm seeing, it looks like my daughter is destined to eat ice cream after every meal, while the adults get to choose from really good desserts. What happened to s'mores for kids? And why isn't the chocolate moose at Le Cellier listed anymore? I'm looking at the menus on allears & I'm just not impressed. Looks like DD will be sharing dessert with me quite a bit. (Actually, she really likes ice cream, but I'd like for her to have more choices.)

I think the smores and chocolate moose are still at Le Cellier but I don't know if they are classed as a child dessert or adult.

Disney probably found out that kids happen to like fruit cups and ice cream and we all know that kids can be creatures of habit with food. I ate two non buffet meals last summer and had dessert from the kids menu both times: banana split at Narcoossee's and make your own sundae at Coral Reef and liked them both. If you ask me the adult menus need more ice cream desserts; they're too heavy with chocolate or cheese cake.

The child CS desserts are largely cookies. If you eat at your resort CS the choices are even more broad as you can usually go to the grab 'n go and get something.

Sounds like we have an adult wanting his/her dessert all to themselves. ;)

Yes most of the dessert options at TS for kids were ice cream, some have the make your own Sundeas that the boys really like, some have fruit cups. But the really different and yummy desserts are on the adult menu. We just shared with the boys... it was more than enough. If we could we ordered the kids fruit cup for dessert and took it with us for a snack later.

You are exactly right! I don't mind sharing some stuff, but hands off of my dessert!

Smores is still on the menu at Jiko. DH just had it last week. A couple of times DS shared our desserts.

Some of these items are no doubt considered either 1) too expensive to produce to be offered on a children's menu for which DDP diners are paying a whopping 10 dollars a day or 2) not in line with WDW's current "healthy" standards for childrens' meals. Not too long ago they were offering only "healthy" choices such as fruit and ended up having to put ice cream and cookies back in.

Well I've got one kid who will ONLY eat ice cream if it's chocolate, so he gets the short end there, and will ONLY eat cupcakes if it is chocolate cupcake with white frosting, again he gets left out. He is so picky he is happy to go without if he doesn't like it, but he should be able to enjoy his trip too.
