Kids Menu Clarification (Table Service)

Can I get clarification on how the Kids Menus at Table Service restaurants work OOP? Past 2 trips we had the deluxe dining plan and true Disney kids under 10 so I was clear in how that all worked.

With no dining plan, just wondering how OOP works for table service for kids over 10. I’ve got a 10 year old who may be interested in ordering off of the kids menu on occasion at table service restaurants. Can he do that, and is he charged the kids price or some other amount? (I think I get how quick serve works, but not clear on table service).

If it's not a buffet anyone can order off kids' menu. If you get the kids' portion you should be charged that amount. You could probably also get an 'adult' portion of a kids' meal for a higher price.

As long as it isn’t fixed price you will be fine.

We had no problem with this on our last trip. Since the regular menu contains both adult and kid offerings, our 10yo would just specify he wanted the "kids' chicken" or whatever it was if he wanted a lighter meal after looking at both.

Super - thanks all! All I know well is Dining Plan ordering, so in that case my 10yo kiddo would have been charged an adult price.

Dining Plan probably not a great deal at this lifestage (5, 10, 14yo), even if it suddenly came back.

When we had 2 adults and 2 kids on the dining plan we were the very rare case of actually saving money because of creative restaurant selections.

My 15 and 13 year olds ordered from the kids menu at 50s prime time, yak and yeti, skipper canteen, and whispering canyon. We did not do the all you can eat at whispering canyon. We were there June 3-8.

Note there are restaurants that have an adult menu and kids menu but are fixed prices.

EX: Be Our Guest, Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus etc ...
