Kids meals on DDP

I have a question about the kids meals. When they say that the dining plan covers entree, dessert and drink, is the jello offered as a side considered the kids dessert? My kiddos don't like jello and will be bummed if mom and dad are eating dessert and they aren't. Can someone explain how this works?

Different places offer different desserts for kids. It would depend on where you're eating. We did the DDP plan last trip and my daughter never once had jello (which she wouldn't want anyway.) She had cookies, chocolate puzzles, cake, ice cream, etc.

There are menus online (I know that allears.net has a lot of them) where you can check out what's offered.

I'm sorry, I didn't word that great. On many of the kids meals it says "Choice of 2: grapes, carrot sticks, applesauce or fruit punch jello". Are one of these items considered the dessert? Of do they get something else in addition?

When I was there in 2/2007, the jello was considered the kid meal dessert. My understanding is that many CS restaurants are now allowing substitutions, such as cookies and pudding, in place of the jello dessert.

Oh, and the jello is sugar-free too. Ugh! That is not dessert. We weren't allowed substitutions so I was sharing my desserts with DD, which was probably better for my waistline.
