Kid's Meals-Have you ever been told no?

DD's will be 11 and 14 this trip and neither are big eaters. From what I've read most people don't seem to have a problem with ordering kids meals when their kids are 10+.

My question is, if you've ever been told 'no' at a TS (non-buffet of course) where was it and what did they say?

My daughter is now 22 but even at 19/20 she LIKED the macaroni and cheese from ESPN and would order that. They no longer serve it or if they do its different and we haven't ordered it for awhile now. Through her teens she never had a problem ordering it and then we had two trips in a row where they said no. The first time we said we had done it many times and the server didn't seem happy about it but said we could do it this one time (like they would remember us).

The next time they said the children's menu was only for kids 9 and under and we said "oh no problem we will take an adult portion of the macaroni and cheese and just charge us accordingly." I think that really surprised the server because she didn't know what to say and she went and talked to a manager who said to go ahead and serve the children's meal. Honestly for us it was the menu item we wanted, not the portion or price.

Aside from that I have been on many trips with teens and not had a problem when they wanted something from the child's menu.
