Kid's Meals for Adults?

Do they allow adults to buy kid's meals at DL if you are paying OOP? I am specifically thinking about the WOC picnic, but wondering about this park-wide. Our youngest is 13, so we do not have anyone in the family that would qualify as a small child.

Throughout the park you shouldn't have a problem doing this with Counter Service, but not at sit down restaurants. Not sure about the WOC picnic. I would think the picnic itself wouldn't be a problem, not sure if you would run into any problem when redeeming the fast passes.

Others on here have commented that they got the WoC picnic kid meal for an adult and had no problems. Since the child and adult WoC picnic meals cost the same, I don't see why it would be a problem.

Getting kid meals for adults at counter service places is also usually not a problem. You can always ask at sit-down places if your 13-year old can order off the kid menu. The worst that will happen is that you will be told no. You can be certain you will not be able to order off the kid menu at character meals or other buffet meals and at Blue Bayou. I have heard of people ordering double-portion of a kid meal and paying adult price when they have a picky eater, so you can look into that option too.

You can absolutely get the kids picnic for an adult. We actually gave ours to DD who was 2 at the time so she could eat what the big kids were eating and get the bracelet. DH used the FP and got a yummy corndog to eat instead.

CS: No problem

TS: It depends on the restaurant and server. Some may let them order a kids meal, but bring (and charge) an adult size portion. We did this at Ariel's in June. My neice (11) ordered the mac n cheese and got a full plate of it!!

WOC picnics are no problem. We did the walk up one day and they only had kid's meals left. The CM said we were welcome to order them for everyone since our goal was just to get WOC FPs anyway.

CS is not problem (since they have no idea who you are ordering for anyway)

TS is fine if you are ordering off a menu. Same goes if an adult only wants to order a dessert while others are eating a full meal, etc.

Buffet and set-price restaurants - this is the only place it is a problem because the price is set by age. As a previous poster stated, you may be able to order an adult-sized version of a kid's meal but you will pay the adult price (this is what we had to do at Club 33).

While there in late August, we discovered that it was no problem for an adult (my super picky, late-20s sister) to order a kids' meal at a CS restaurant. At FS restaurants, if she ordered a kids' meal they would inform her that she would receive an adult portion of the meal at an adult price.

You can be certain you will not be able to order off the kid menu at character meals or other buffet meals and at Blue Bayou. I have heard of people ordering double-portion of a kid meal and paying adult price when they have a picky eater, so you can look into that option too.

You can absolutely order a children's menu item at Blue Bayou or any other table service resturaunt. If the waiter gives you a hard time or tells you that you must "double portion," ask to see a manager.

Disney does not enforce "age limits" on food except for buffets. And, truth be told, that goes for about 99.9% of chain resturaunts in the country, fast food or sit down.
