Kid's meal burger???

ok...I give up...who decided that chicken nuggets (which are fried) are so much better for children? 2 of my kids will eat nuggets, by my oldest doesn't really care for them. Is there ANY CS place that serves burgers on a kids meal? I guess if it comes down to it, I can order a burger for him, or just split one with him.

Also, why is there no pizza on the kids' meals?

Also, what is the turkey and cheese rollup like at Pinnochio Village Haus?

Wow, I can't believe it, but you are right, gone are the burgers from the kids menus. My guess is that too many grown ups were eating them. As far as some different (not chicken nugget) items, Sunshine Seasons in Epcot offers a make your own mini sub kids meal for $3.99, as well as sweet and sour chicken, chicken drumstick, or mac and cheese meals; The ABC Commisary at MGM offers kids vegetable noodle stirfry or fish and chips and Rosie's All American offers mac and cheese; Cosmic Ray's in MK offers Mini corn dogs or garden salad with chicken for kids, and El Pirate when open offers a taco meal; Flame tree at AK offers kids hot dogs and Pizzafari offers kids, well, quesedillas, but no pizza!

Pizza and burgers can be found on the regular menus of many CS restaurants, but not kid-sized, I guess.

Thanks for the help! I hadn't thought about the problem of the adults eating all of the kids meals. I guess the solution for that is to make all of the kids really unappetizing so that adults don't want to order them--of course, neither do the kids?

I did find on another website (not to be mentioned here!) some of the menus that had been updated...such as:

Cosmic Ray's--chicken nuggets have replaced the mini corn dogs

El Pirata -- cheese quesadilla has replaced the taco (great for us!)

pizzafari (AK) -- Spaghetti and meatballs have replaced the quesadilla (also a good kids choice)


I didn't check the MGM menu since we won't be eating a CS meal there. I am planning to eat at Funshine Seasons while at Epcot if we do CS. My kids also like Asian food, so while at AK we are hoping to get Yak and Yeti CS or just go to Flametree. At least at MK there are all of those snack options (Dolewhip, Strawberry whip, stuffed pretzels). There is also Casey's corner for hot dogs--aren't too many of those around either!

I know that my planning has reached the OCD level when DH comes home and asks what I am researching now, and if I changed our ADR's yet again!

Yes, the other site you didn't mention does seem to have more updated menus. I usually go there first, actually.

This is my exact frustration with the WDW menus, and the main reason we are not using the DDP for our trip in May...my kids won't eat 75% of the items on the kids meals!

For the most part, we will order adult meals and sides/fruit and then the family will just split.

yes, the sad thing is that while I am looking for stuff for kids, I am having to look for what DH will eat also...in some ways, he is worse than a child. At least the kids eat mexican, asian, and italian options, DH will only do burgers, hot dogs, and plain steak (no sauce). He also is pretty bummed that the only pizza options are cheese and pepperoni, which he dislikes.

That is why I do the DDP...sort of hard work to find somewhere that he likes, but at least there are steaks, and I don't have to eat CS the whole time. also, then he can't complain since it is already paid for.

As for adults, it can be a toss up as to if it is a good value, but for kids, it is a no-brainer. One buffet at most places (character meals especially) and the kids plan has paid for itself. Since DH can be counted on to order a steak if that is an option, it works out well for us. (Also I can get dessert...my real reason for the DDP!!!)

My theory is that most kids love burgers, so if they aren't on the kid's menus then parents will buy a burger off the regular menu. Disney can increase their profits that way.

We were having lunch at The Electric Umbrella and I did not feel like having a big burger, so I asked if I could get just a single burger with no fries. They said "no problem" and it was only $3.99. We found with 4 of us that if we all ordered meals with fries, it was too much food, so we would order 1 or 2 of the meals without fries. It took about $2 off the cost of the meal.
